not researching, just asking if that was a good deal

from the reviews on many sites, it was 4 1/2 stars.

What a load of crap. Windows 8 is great. I get so sick of all you knuckleheads whining about a product you haven't used.

Hell, windows 8 was made for the damn tablet which is way you knuckleheads give it so much heat on the PC. Woe is me, I have to push a SINGLE button to get to the desktop. How will I ever get those 2 seconds back!

I bought one for the GF Xmas of 2011 and she loves it. Great tablet for the money. I bought myself an Asus Transformer and I like her Thrive better. Sure its a little thicker, but I find the Os smoother on hers.

ive used it extensively. its only upgrade over 7 is browser performance (something you wont even really notice if your computer isnt a piece of shite in the first place)

W8 shouldnt be released on any non touch screen devices. Its like creating a GUI for use with a mouse and then allowing it to be bundled with systems that don't have/ can't use a mouse.

This clearly shows you have no clue what you are talking about.

Boot times tremendously faster.
Security, leaps and bounds better. I screw with the Deep Web all the time and haven't been hit since I added Windows 8.

It is better. Noticeably better to anyone with a real clue.

well considering my windows 7 machine boots in about 7 seconds on my SSD, i dont really think its noticeable.

No it doesn't. You can't get through the BIOS in 7 seconds.

I have an SSD. Okay, so maybe it takes 17 seconds. Still would not see any increase if I upgraded to 8.

I just got the nexus 7 for $140

I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or resell it. I've heard only great reviews about it
