So I just picked up Breath of the Wild for Wii U since it doesn't seem like I'll be able to get my hands on a switch anytime soon. I also snagged some of the amiibos while I was at Bestbuy. I've never gotten any of these, they seem like a gimmick to get extra money out of gamers. The Link Rider amiibo looks awesome and I'll keep it just for that. I also got the zelda one and one of the monster ones. Are these things worth it? And do they break the game?

I don't want to use them if they are giving me some huge game winning advantage. I also don't want to spend the $$ on them if they are useless. Might return 2/3 that I bought. There are also 2 others they didn't have in stock. Zelda is probably the only franchise I would ever buy something like this for.

They can help with resources and rare items. The guardian one is my most useful as I've gotten ancient cores in its daily drop.

Finally broke down and ordered Smash Bros Link and Zelda because I want Epona and the Twilight Bow.

Do those always give you Epona and the Twilight Bow or is it random?

So the Amiibos help make the game less grindy but they don't give you an overwhelming advantage that ruins the game? If so, then they sound like a good purchase to me.

Smash Bros Link gives you Epona only once. Also can drop Twilight Link outfit. Otherwise elemental arrows, and supplies.

The rare drops are random.

They only give a small amount of supplies and can only be used each once a day, so that keeps them from breaking the game in my opinion.

Gives you Epona only once until she dies. You can also get Epona as a drop multiple times until registering her.

The Twilight Bow comes from the Smash Zelda Amiibo.

Didn't have the Smash Zelda Amiibo so purchased off eBay also. The Twilight Bow is worth it for farming dragon parts.

That 8000 range and nearly straight shot helps out a ton.

Yeah I went ahead and grabbed the smash bros Link, Zelda, Sheik, and Gannondorf.

Only ones I dont have or have ordered are the toon links or toon zelda.

Still waiting on Smash Bros. Shiek and Zelda amiibos, but scored a Sword of the Six Sages other night from Gannondorf.

Also not sure if you've played twilight princess HD, but I purchased it with the Wolf Link Amiibo months before BoTW came out. If you have it, you can summon Wolf Link as a partner in BoTW. I ended up completing TPHD with 20 hearts, so the wolf has 20 hearts. It's kind of a neat gimmick. The wolf will lead you to items that you're searching for with the scanner, and it helps out a little in battles.
