Question about having 2 XB1s

I live in New Orleans but work in Baton Rouge. My wife and I have thought about buying a condo in Baton Rouge that I would use a couple of days during the week to skip the commute.
If I bought a second XBX1, could I link the two? Meaning just one Gold membership and profile and sharing a digital copy of a game between the two consoles.
I'm guessing it's not possible but I'm looking into it. I can always move the system back and forth, but it would be worth getting an extra console to not have to worry about that (especially if I would forget it on a trip). The biggest thing is I would like to be able to pick up where I left off on games.

I am not 100% sure on this, but on xbox 360 you just had to recover your gamertag to have your profile/online on another console. It required your email and gamertag password, didn't take too long.
If you owned a digital game you could also still play it, but you just had to have it downloaded to both systems.
Like i said, this was how it was on Xbox360, I'd assume it hasn't changed. I own an Xbone but haven't ever had to login on another console.

Yes. Everything you buy digitally you'll be able to play on both consoles. It's called gamesharing and it was made for this purpose. A lot of people use it to share games with their friends and only having to pay half the price on games.
ETA: If you are concerned about saved games, I would purchase a small external hard drive like 1 TB or 500 GB and install the games onto so you could transport it from one xbox to the other. I know for games like 2k and Madden the saved game data is cloud based so it travels wherever you go. From what I am reading on the xbox website, while you are online, every game saves progress to the cloud.

I have two at home (living and bed) and one in my office at my business. I use one account for them all and share digital games between them.

Pretty sure you can, as long as you have digital copies of the games. Friend of mine stayed with me for a few days and downloaded a game he had at home onto my console and played it from his Live account, but I couldn't play it on my account, even though it's my xbox

When you purchase a digital copy of a game you get two licenses to play it. 1 for your gamertag and the other for your console. If you log into your account as him, and go into the settings and make your console his home xbox you'll be able to play all of his games under your gamertag. At the same time he does this on his console and will be able to play any game you have purchased digitally. And yes you can both play the same game at the same time at separate locations. It is very simple and saves a ton of money on games. Make sure if anyone does this it is with someone they trust, and you can only change your home xbox 3 times in one calendar year so you can't just do it with more than one other person.

Yeah you're totally gonna cheat on your wife.

Thanks for all of the input from everyone.
If we do it, she would be with me most of the time. She works from home so it doesn't matter where she is. We would go to Baton Rouge on Monday. She would work from the condo Monday through Wednesday and go back to Metairie Wednesday night to see her family (she visits her father and brothers every Wed night). I would go back Thursday after work and work from home on Fridays.
On a normal week I would only have 1 night alone, and I'd be so busy playing games it wouldn't be an issue. I'm still hesitant about doing it. Buying the condo isn't a big deal and we'd pay cash so no note. But it feels like a lot of other expenses (taxes, condo fees, utilities, cable, internet, furnishing the place) to avoid the commute. Right now it's just an option on the table.
