digital foundry
To sum it up those PS2 classics they bundled with Battlefront appear to be running on emulation. Digital Foundry reported that it was in the works a while back but heard nothing afterwards. Sony recently mentioned PS2 classics in a survey for wanted features also.

I guess they were using these as a test and I would expect to see more of these coming. It's odd that they haven't said a word about it but maybe they wanted it to work first. They also have trophy support. I'll be waiting to platinum GTA3 and Vice City.

Wish this could have been worked in earlier, but it's a neat feature.

Again,

How can they put put out these systems and have them not be backwards compatible?

Can't answer that but if it wasn't for MS sales being so shitty, I doubt you would have seen any backwards compatibility for either next gen system IMO.

Xbox is selling fine, ps4 is just selling better. They also started that process a long time ago.

Because you have no idea how hard it is to build an emulator to run on a console. You have way less resources to use than on a PC

processors use different architecture and use up massive resources to emulate on different platofrms.

For instance you will likely never see ps3 backwards compatibility on the PS4 because the 4 uses x86 architecture where the 3 used a cellular chipset. The memory required to run the emulation is massive compared to what is on board the PS4. :(

NCAA 2006. Still don't get how you couldn't make that game with current recruiting and visuals.
