I'm not sure how extensive their work has been on the Eye...it has seemed relatively unchanged since it came out white a while ago.
As Geaux said, I do think they are putting a "check mark" next to the motion control box. But I am OK with them (A) not including it and charging more and (B) not spending too much time/resources in develop it.
Just like the whole voice command recognition in foreign countries "ordeal"...this doesn't affect me in the least. I have no interest in the PSEye

You will never see a kinectless Xbox One. It is part of the console.

Although it is not likely at the moment, I wouldn't say never.
If there happens to be problems selling the console, this could possibly be a way to cut the price.
Recent MS PR history may agree with me.
