Yeah, next year when the Scorpio releases. Anyone that already owns an Xbox One or is thinking about buying one would be stupid to buy an Xbox One or One S before the Scorpio releases unless they just gotta have a 4k video player now.

I'm sure the stores will do a trade in deal.

Maybe. Phil spencer says the Scorpio is intended for 4K so if you don't have a 4K tv then there is no point. Time will tell.

I hope NEO is as powerful as Scorpio. Sounds like NEO is equivalent to the S.

I just upgraded. Had a day one xbone with 500mb storage and the power supply was loud as frick...so figured I would need to get a new power supply and harddrive or trade that shite in for the new one. Got $125 for it at best buy, had a $200 gift card from buying a phone there earlier this year, so out the door for about $115.

Absolutely love it.

ETA: But what I really wanted to post was that most stores will offer a trade in deal.

Nothing like getting hyped over what is essentially the Playstation 4 'S' of the iPhone world.

This is so incredibly wrong.

Good grief.

Right, and we don't even know actual specs yet.

If the Neo actually does have Zen with Polaris 10/11, you're talking at minimum 2x the performance, potentially even quite a bit more than that.

Lol @ equivalent to XB1S, just an APU with a brand new not even released yet Zen CPU and a brand new Polaris architecture GPU that has been out for a month. Same shite from 2012.

The S is a glorified 4K movie player.

I do see a lot of people dogging this, but I almost got one just for the player.

People that haven't went 4K yet don't realize there is only one single 4K Bluray player on the market, the Samsung K8500, which runs $367.99 currently and lacks quite a few features aka pretty barebones. LINK

The One S including one for as little as $299 is phenomenal just for a movie player right now.

I would 100% get a One S for the 4K BluRay player IF the Neo was 2017, I've held off watching some great movies just so I can watch them via 4K Bluray with HDR.

Rumor currently is OC PS4 CPU which is going to limit the system a bit compared to Scorpio. XB1s no comparison though.

The timeline makes sense, Zen hasn't even been revealed and is still 2-3 months away on the desktop side, so you would think the APU side is in that same timeline or very close, how would they get Zen APU's inside new PS4's and launch the system in October with decent stock? Just no way.

Now if they have Polaris 11 instead of Polaris 10, that is doable and be bonus performance on the GPU side.

I haven't kept up with the consoles enough to know how strong the Polaris 11 over Polaris 10 rumor is, but if so, you're talking RX 480 performance in a console and that is great.

Neo and Scorpio are going to have some legit hardware, not sure pure console players fully realize just how big of jumps in power these consoles are actually making.

I mean 1.84 TFLOPS to ~4.19 TFLOPS is substantial.

Agreed, everything points to 2017 with the Neo IMO.

PSVR launches in October, it uses the PS4 for basic intro to VR applications, then some time around 2017 E3 you get the NEO and full VR experiences.
