Keep in mind that link was from someone in the comments section and not actually G4. It sounds like a UltimateHog homer because every credible source/news site has shown it as shared. Of course Sony could have cleared this up with more details on specs.

Question though, is the GDDR5 only meant for graphics, meaning they got the spec wrong?

Going off of trends though the Xbox is the dominate unit the past 3 years. I was just saying Sony needs to reverse that trend in a bad way. They know this and that's why they are desperate to be the first to market.
You can look up the figures yourself but outside of a month or two here and there the Xbox has been dominate in the past 3 years give or take.

I agree that first is better no doubt, but if they are 1.1 mil ahead and have been out a year less, than the average sales per period has to be higher, meaning PS3 has outperformed.

Not sure if they misspoke or if since a console is a specilized system the architecture allows the GDDR5 to work for the whole system.

In the US, not worldwide. I guess I shouldn't be surprised a MS fanboy is focusing just on the US market.

Yeah, you can't even compare the two. It's not a simple as saying "Oh. That that number is higher than the other, so it must be better."
