IMO, a lot of fans were put off by the art style of WW and have come up with a lot of BS reasons not to like it.

I was one of those when I was younger. Looked to kiddy for me. I have since played it and loved it. Looked gorgeous for a 10 year old game (emulated at 1080p anyway).

Both it and Twilight Princess seem to have aged favorably. Both received lots of criticism when they were new and both have since received more positive outlooks from the more level headed fans of the series (still have a few that refuse to like one or the other for whatever reasons).

Twilight is my favorite in the series, as crazy as that sounds. Love OoT, but TP was just a perfect game to me, with the "grown up" graphics being a cherry on top.

I've played through half of WW before and I'm dying to actually complete it. Not sure if I want to do it by emulator or wait till I can play it on Wii U.

Still the most underrated Zelda title, even if some fans are coming around. TP is also great, but there's just something awesome about WW.

OoT, MM, and TP are 1a, 1b, and 1c to me. I can't choose a favorite among those 3. OoT was my 1st. Majora's Mask was just so unique. Twilight Princess just gave me a bigger and better OoT.

I have no problem with anyone claiming TP as their #1.

I first played WW almost 10 years to the day after it launched in Japan. It was emulated and I was blown away with how good it looked. I didn't know it was 10 years old at first, but went and looked it up and shocked to find out it was that old. The art style really held up against time. Then I saw they were coming out with an HD version and I was surprised they actually changed the graphics at all. The exact same game looked gorgeous at 1080p and that was all it really needed. The HD version on WiiU is gorgeous, but the original looks amazing too when emulated.

Since Wind Waker HD's combat isn't plagued by motion controls and because it's in 1080p, I'm leaning towards it.

I'm not crazy about the emulation. I emulated Twilight Princess through the forest temple once. The game looked nice but it was hard mapping the controls to a PS3 game pad which also made menu navigation confusing.

Just played both for the 1st time very recently. I had a really good time with Wind Waker, although some of the tasks got to be tedious and redundant. Really liked TP's story, but it gets off to kind of a slow start IMO. The motion controls were fine for sword fighting, but drove me up a wall for aiming things like the bow, hookshot, etc. Took me several tries to do a # of dungeons just because the aiming wouldn't register perfectly. But I enjoyed both.

IMO the first half TP is average. The second half of the game is excellent. I would recommend playing TP without the motion controls.

OP just go play wind waker HD

Couldn't find Wind Waker HD anywhere when I got off work today. Copies of Twilight Princess were also sold out at my local Wal Mart :(

Wind Waker is criminally underrated.

Best Gannon fight in the series.

I'm about to clear Tower of the Gods. Did about 25 percent of it then forgot to save my game before I quit.

Finally played through Wind Waker. I lost a lot of steam after the Wind Temple. Playing once a week for about a month, I finally completed the Triforce quest and Ganon's Tower.

The game becomes really tedious near the end of the game with the Triforce Quest and then the boss gauntlet that is Ganon's Tower.

I'm not sure that I would label this game as the best of the Zelda franchise like some people do. I like the art direction and the game had a strong story for a Zelda title (direct sequel to Ocarina of Time more or less), but the sailing becomes tedious and some of the dungeons have some annoying mechanics (reflecting the light/ blowing the magical leaf thing for the wind).

Maybe someday I'll try Twilight Princess. I was going to play through it immediately after Wind Waker, but I'm kind of burned out on Zelda at the moment. I just don't think I'm enough of a fan of the series.

This is exactly why people peg it lower than MM, OoT, and TP. You experienced what most people felt.
