I had my fill of Tigerland in college. When I was editor of Tiger Weekly I had to attend most of the bar events we hosted, like Bring Your own Cup. Excessive drinking on Wednesday nights.

Tigerland is dying imo. Garden District/ Perkins Overpass area (zeezee,duvics,ivars,chelseas,uncle earls, georges, happy's,I think they are still planning on building one there where zeezee gardens is) is where it's at. That's also where I spent 50% of my week nights while I was still at LSU. Garden district is my favorite part of BR; bc it reminds me alot of new orleans.
But all that ended in may, and now I'm working 6 to 6 every day and doing nothing at all except for when my gf blackmails me into going out once in a while.

Since I graduated, alcohol went from like top 10 interests to like top 200. I just dont want to be hungover and waste one of my free days. I might have a beer but I don't ever really drink to being drunk anymore .
Every now and then I have a blowout type of night though.
ETA: which reminds me how stupid our repressive alcohol and drug laws are. In europe, when you can drink at any age; they dont glorify it. When europeans see the way we drink, they are like wtf are these fools doin. (at least thats what the one transfer student I met at LSU told me; I was like ok and then went back to beer pong) It's just like one more thing at the grocery store.

Being hungover sucks a lot more the older you get too. You go from I don't feel good to a big pile of damnit

crossfiring the apu? I thought it was usually better to just do a cpu if you were spending money on a discreet gpu.

That's cheap RAM. You could buy my 8GB kit for $40 and it would be about the same price for much better mem. Faster, and dual channel.
Really, it's the gaming aspect that drives up the price of an HTPC. Otherwise, you can get the cheapest APU/mobo combo, cheap RAM, any old case and a 250w PSU that at least won't catch on fire.

If he is going APU then he will need at least 1866MHz and I think the new AMD A10-6800K recommends 2133 MHz
ETA: Even the APU in your build list there recommends 1866MHz as the minimum.

shite, you are right. I forgot that the APUs actually benefit from faster RAM in a big way.

So my usb boot drive is registering as a keyboard on my friends PC I just built him. Anyone know how to fix this? Tried using different ports, and we have no back up PC right now to test it out on
