The first build is always nerve wracking, I had something I didn't plug in right on my first build too. Glad you are up and running now.

AMD set to launch Ryzen before March 3rd
Final engineering samples are out with a 3.6GHz base clock and a 4.0GHz turbo clock. Should put it in well within 10% IPC of the 6900K.
Now for pricing.

Sweet!!! Vega should be out by June as well. They kept saying first half of 2017 at CES. If things go well with Vega when it comes out I am going to have to build myself a desktop for Christmas. The Vega 10 X2 (Dual card) is supposed to be released second half of the year.
ETA: @UltimateHog...
Low Volume - Ryzen

So overclocking took you from 23k to 30k? Thats a pretty nice jump

I also add the HB bridge for the GPU's.
I backed down the OC to 19% on the CPU and use the stock OC mode on the GPU's, so I am running little over 27K.

So I got my new laptop, which is about the same one suggested. It runs pretty good, the reg 1TB HD is pretty slow, but it's manageable. The games run really well, so that's my main concern.
One thing that is interesting about the laptop that I've never seen before is that it has both the GTX 1050 and Intel Integrated graphics on it. When I run the dxdiag it only says that the GPU is the Intel graphics and not the NVidia. My Device Manager screen shows both cards being installed and "working as intended" but when I disable the Intel Graphics it seems like the PC doesn't recognize the Nvidia because the resolution changes and everything isn't as clear.
Has anyone had experience with this? Is my PC actually using the Nvidia card?
Disclaimer: I have updated the NVidia driver's via HPs website (Nvidia doesn't have any more drivers available)

It will when you actually play a game. You wouldn't want it running all the time.

My laptop has a switch to swap between my GTX 1080 and the integrated Intel graphics. Must reboot in order for it to take effect. I never use my laptop while unplugged so I always just run off the 1080.

I'm reading that Ryzen quad cores will have a 45 watt TDP.

Just saw that as well as the Hexacore at 65 watts. Damn.

Where is the switch on yours?

Looks like I'll be starting a build again here soon.

Right under the power button.
I have an MSI GT73 and on the right hand side of the keyboardis the power switch, GPU switch, fan control switch, and switch to control the backlit keyboard.

Tell us your choices, it's fun to build and follow others builds.

Picked up a GTX 1080 today. I don't think I'll have time to install it until I return from my trip. I thought it was a prudent way to begin the upgrade path once again as it should give me the biggest boost. Currently have 780ti Classifieds in SLI.

Who is the maker of the 1080?

I was 100% down for AMD till they confirmed no 2x16 PCIE lanes. Looks like I'm going to have to pay out the arse for an 8 core skylake this fall

Yeah no clue there, single cards only for me.
Rumors are the 8 core top end chip will be priced at/near the 7700K, like wait what? That is insane!
Might as well get the 8 core at that price instead of the 6 core, cuz why the frick not for the same price I'll get for my 7700K?

AMD told us that Ryzen will be priced below the Intel Core i7-6900K ($1000) and that it won’t be $999. Online rumors have put Ryzen at $350 and several people we spoke with at CES 2017 said that the flagship Ryzen processor will cost less than the Intel Core i7-7700K processor ($349.89 on Amazon) or be right around there depending on how final performance looks.
