Glad you guys had some good news
I had a great uncle that had to have one of his lungs removed. He lived almost 30 years with just one lung and he was fine. The biggest downside is that he had to take an oxygen machine with him almost everywhere he went and he couldn't do certain activities as long as he used to. But he still lived a healthy and active life.
Praying the biopsy comes back negative.

The other news is that, no matter if the lump on his lung is cancer or not, they will still probably have to remove the lung due to its location. It's at the very top and is putting a strain on his lung causing him to cough and causing fluid to build up in his lung which is what was giving him the pneumonia-like symptoms. As bad as that is, it looks like he will be in the clear once they remove that lung as there were no other spots or signs of cancer on the rest of his lungs.

Thanks, Henry.
The doc today said he is still fairly young (62) and in good enough shape that he doesn't see my dad needing an oxygen machine like that. He also said that usually when one loses a lung the other lung actually grows and becomes stronger to compensate.
I wished for better but this is perhaps the only option we have and again it's way better than what we were told/expecting yesterday.

Is the Asus Xonar DG worth $20 just to get a little more sound from its built in amp for a headset? Definitely not worth spending $75 for a dac like a FiiO e10k. Very good reviews on them. HyperX Cloud headset 53mm drivers.

Thanks for that, I appreciate it and understand most of it.
I am trying to work on a small mini itx build and was wondering what the difference was between the Kingston and Samsung SSDs besides a $30 price tag.

What do you have onboard? ALC892? It might be a slight upgrade or lateral move. I don't know a whole lot about sound card audio quality. I doubt I'd hear the difference there. When I did a sound upgrade, I went straight from mediocre to awesome (started with $50 Philips headphones with stupidly amped-up bass, upgraded to Q701s and the Schiit Modi/Magni stack), so it was a night and day difference. I'm not really good at telling the quality differences between similarly priced audio gear unless it's especially shitty or really good.
Speaking on onboard, I read something suggesting that having Intel onboard graphics drivers installed could be the cause of the memory leak issue. I did have mine installed because I was using it for a TV last year. I uninstalled them about 48 hours ago and everything seems to be working as it should. I think you're running an AMD build though, so maybe not applicable.

Has anyone found a reason why nVidia is waiting until HBM2 releases until using on their GPUs?

I think you're the only person that would geek out over this. I just pulled this in some packs I got today, I'm fricking pumped that I got it.
For the other people in this thread, this is the most expensive and rarest card in the format right now

ALC892?
Yep.

This card uses the same **or nearly equivalent** DAC chip that is found in many moderately priced but more expensive consumer outboard Dacs and amp/dac combos.
Decent DAC chips have been commodities for many Years contrary to what some would like you to believe this one is no exception and is fine for consumer use.
Seems worth 25 just for the built in amp to get some more sound.

AMD admits it can’t be “the cheaper solution,” will refocus on performance
This is an important event or series of events to watch for over the next few years. AMD has fallen hard in the past 10-15 years and is still falling; I don't see them going away completely, but any hint of their demise creates two near-monopolies in x86 (Not that Intel is competing with AMD all that much. ARM is their true enemy). I really don't think their decline has as much to do with their weaker hardware as it does with their practically non-existent marketing.

That is nice, are you just pulling from X&Y?

I pull current rotation packs. I play league about once a week, so I need cards from boundaries crossed to XY
