I had some general interest in streaming, but I remembered I hate most gamers and feel too old for any of that shite.

Do you use just stream through your xbone or do you use OBS through a capture card?

Thought some guy on here a few months ago was saying Twitch was dead and the new Youtube streaming service was way better.

Twitch is on another planet compared to live streaming YouTube.

The days of watching prerecorded gamers like Pewdiepie, Markiplier, Cryotic, etc. is on the down slope as well.

I know that you can do it through your xbone with or without the kinect.

I'm not sure how overlays work though so you might need a capture card instead of the kinect for that

Yeah, I don't know much about it and don't watch streams often, just every now and then when I'm unsure if I want to get a game I'll watch a stream or 2 to see how the game looks.

But he was very set on how much better the Youtube service was and how it wouldn't be long until everyone moved from Twitch to Youtube.

Streaming through the xbone Twitch service is thoroughly looked down upon in the Twitch community.

OBS is really the only way to do it. And, with OBS overlays are very simple.

The top streamer on gaming.youtube has like 800 viewers right now.

The top streamer on Twitch is probably around 30,000 right now.

And every single game commentator on YouTube has been "complaining" about viewership going down consistently.

So.... okay?

I mean the exact opposite happened when Twitch exploded a couple of years ago.

It's possible, but highly unlikely considering Twitch is in partnership with every major esports league.

If my experience on Twitch tells me anything it's that looks really don't matter like 90% of the time.

There are a ton of red pill, fedora wearing /pol/ douches with thousands of followers.

Having a camera is usually better, but one of my favorite streamers, Lirik, doesn't use one and he is very big.

I can create you an overlay, but it will take me a while. Currently in the "rush hour" of a major project at work.

Just give me an idea of what you want (and for what game/s you would like to stream) and I will work on it as soon as I can.

The twitch interface is vastly superior to Youtube.

I still don't understand everyone's erection over the streaming on it. Probably because it's "newer".
