In too many of the stages it's FAR too hectic, so you have to play defensive so as not to get beaten by the constant stream of stuff.

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the stages as well.

This.

Most of the new stages are horrible. Wiley's Castle, Pyrosphere, Gaur Plain, Gamer, etc, feature incredibly invasive bosses that, quite honestly, ruin the gameplay. Even the Super Mario Bros U stage, which seemed relatively innocuous and enjoyable just 6 months ago, now features Nabbit, which will appear and randomly bag the nearest player, often times resulting in death.

It's just not fun.

I like it in certain instances. Online is alright, with friends for a few rounds is fun.

The problem is....see above. Too many of the challenges require incredible precision/perfection when it comes to what they want you to achieve, and it sucks losing to the sudden boss, the randomly spawned bomb that you pop in a flurry, etc. I'm not a fan of that kind of "difficulty." If you want me to get 4 KO's in Cruel smash, give me a bigger stage and no items and I might have a chance.

It just isn't balanced. But that's always been SSB. The weakest part is the single player and no matter what, they can't find a good balance to it. I've always hated Master Hand since none of the skills you learn are viable. I usually hate fighting game last bosses outside of M.Bison, when the same thing happens....

"Oh look, you've learned how to fight....throw it out the window for this super mega boss that doesn't jive with anything you've just done."

With that said, the game is awesome. The roster is fantastic, the online is perfect, and playing with friends is a blast. I just wish they'd find a better way for unlocks, challenges and single player.

Is link formidable now? In the N64 version, he always felt very heavy and clunky.

You've got Toon Link as well now, and he's light and plays a lot differently than regular Link.

That sounds dumb.

The extent to which a stage should impact the game should be no more than situations like the random Arwing on Sector Z, tornados on Hyrule Castle, etc.

They should be easily dodged but painful if you forget.

Seriously, they need to do an update to toggle off bosses. It wouldn't be a bad stage if it didn't have that yellow man. Refuse to play on that stage if I ever see it highlighted in Classic Mode.

My girlfriend is pissed

Some of these challenges are bullshite

4 kills in Cruel Smash with Pit yeah frick that shite, my record is 2 only because I somehow lured 2 of the Miis off the edge and they died a split second before my character did

20 Crazy Order Tickets Cleared with Mario? frick it took me 5 tries just to clear 10 to get ROB.

Agree that this stage is absolutely terrible. I tried playing it on 8 player and its a zoomed out mess where you can barely see anything

There's one event match I have yet to complete, and it's feeding Kirby in that clusterfrick of a maze. Can't see shite even though you know there's food around you.

Ok, got my Wii U in today.

Played some matches against the CPU to get a quick feel for the game, then jumped into multiplayer.

I quit after one game.

Is the lag that bad for everyone? I experienced no noticeable lag during Mario Kart, but the delay on SSB was at least 1-2 seconds. That and the game would freeze for a sec every now and then.

My connection is fine and all of my other wireless devices have no issues. Is this a recurring problem for this game?

ETA: Little Mac is fun

Finally put down Dragon Age long enough to finally play. I love it. Went and bought be a Link Amiibo and really like how that all works. I was getting my arse kicked online until I played with my level 50 amiibo for a few hours. After that, I was able to keep up with the pace and win a few online matches.

So, about online play, we need to establish some rules. I'm in a hotel right now that doesn't allow me to do it, which blows, but until I go to another one where I can connect, is everyone here cool with 4 man stock matches? What about items? I'm down for some or none. What does everyone think?

Stock matches for sure. I'm not a fan of items but I don't hate them either.

If we decide on items maybe just the classic ones Even on the N64 we turned off the star, tomato and hammer though
