I was more worried about them feeling obliged to give WT playtime. A new ADC, not so much.

I have to fight the urge to log in now a days.. went from 20 LP away from gold promos to 0 LP Silver II.. the plague that is tilt as consumed me.
When I go to play ranked, I don't have a clue what I want to play... I have no confidence in any role right now.
Just need to let it pass and pick it back up in a couple weeks I guess.

Don't play ranked until you figure it out.
Honestly, find a couple champions in two of your main roles, set up a couple rune pages for different scenarios for those champions (same with masteries).
Also have a follow up champ that you can go to in the event you get auto filled (or dodge that game).
This will make you more proficient in how you plays since you are constantly practicing only a few champions instead of 15 random ones.
For instance, I main Naut top and Ziggs mid. My secondaries are Shen Top and Lux Mid. My follow up champ is Nocturne if I get placed jungle. Any other role, it's whatever or I dodge. I have high win rates on these champions because I play them, a lot, so situations are second nature to me. Escapes become easier, 1v1's become easier, your role becomes easier to identify, etc...
Find the champion(s) you have the highest win rates on (with a decent # of games) and continue to play those champions.

I main mid, but my secondary role usually varies. I'll go on streaks that I play adc or top.
I consider Brand as my main, Lux and Xerath as my backup mid laners.
I'll play Ekko top, don't really have a back up for top. I've tried Naut top since you suggested it, I played ok. My other lanes lost and felt like I couldn't do anything.
Varus as adc primarily, Caitlyn or Ashe as backups.
I immediately go Naut sup when I get AF sup, I'm actually quite sharp as sup on him. I'll play Vi or Xin jungle if I go there (haven't played or been af jungle in a loooong time.
My problem with ranked is, and I've said this many times before, that I'm NOT PRO, but I hold my own 9/10 games and I'm not the reason I lose (or I think I'm not anyway). That's what's frustrating. I don't feel I should lose 8/10 games.

I'm only silver II (Gold V last season), so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I feel like if you want to climb, just focus on a couple champs and spam ranked.
If you want to have fun and just whatever, whenever, then the climb will be much slower and more difficult.

Honestly, with franchising becoming eminent, relegation going away and the Challenger Series essentially becoming a farm system for LCS, I think it will draw more viewers as a whole.
Also wouldn't be a terrible idea to have former pro's like this to sort of mentor the younger "farm" players either.
