I read that as them saying they found that fans would rather watch 1 game of TSM, and then 1 game of C9, and then 1 game of CLG in the same time frame as a BO3. If you have 2 hours to watch 3 games, you'd rather get to watch 6 teams play a game versus 2 play 3 times.

It's still stupid to take away Bo3's when they're the proven superior format in terms of competitive integrity. Why Riot absolutely refuses to adopt the OGN format and just spread the Bo3's out all week is beyond me. It fixes literally every problem but they don't seem to think people would watch. Pretty sure I'm gonna side with the E-Sports capital of the world on this one.

Riot flat out said they only care about viewership numbers right now at the start of franchising. It is what it is.

They should have just waited for all 3 NA teams to get dumpstered in groups and then claimed they were doing it for competitive advantage because NA teams aren't getting bo1 experience and that's why they sucked ag worlds.

NA did do better internationally before bo3's and as mentioned 90% of NA's international experience is in bo1 anyway.
18 games a split is the only shitty thing about this. play each team 4 times with 3 games a week. thats 36 games over 12 weeks. or only 3 times a split and give side adv in game 3 to the lower ranked team at the time.

The fact that pro LCS players play sofew matches per week (extrapolated across their entire career) is crazy to me. Look at the play rate amongst pro Dota and CSGO players. For some reason Riot seems to believe these guys are going to melt away from having to play a few more games.

I don't care what anyone on here says, this game is 99% about who you get paired up with in ranked.
I play GP top. If my team doesn't go full retard in the first 20 minutes I typically have a huge impact on the game and it's more often than not a win. This is really true for any role I typically play.
Then I get games like today. I have to face an Irelia top. They send jungle pressure early and often, then the enemy Ahri is constantly roaming. I only die once after all the attempted ganks and dives, manage to get a triple kill at Baron, and another kill earlier with my ult.
Somehow, with the enemy team sending all that pressure top, we got zero dragons, no towers, no vision, no pressure elsewhere...nothing.
I just don't know what to do when a team is dead set on shutting your lane down early, and your team literally doesn't follow, doesn't push a lane/tower, doesn't get vision, doesn't go for an objective...doesn't get ANYTHING for the enemy team sending 3 people constantly to a one person lane.
Literally lost a flex ranked game the other day after being up 14-1, getting two towers before 8 minutes all because our mid and top literally wound up with 30 deaths combined at the end of the game after going full on retard at the 12-15 minute mark.
I feel like winning and losing is more out of my control than in it.

I play well enough to win. I am certainly RARELY if ever THE reason my team loses.
I can't control people constantly being out of position, refusing to group, not following roams, not getting vision, not, trying 2v5 when we are down, not pushing lanes, etc...
I can't control having multiple double digit death teammates in a 30 minute game.
I feel like I have to go 15/1 every single game to combat a bot lane that goes 2/20 together or a mid that gives up 5 deaths at 8-10 minutes or to even have a shot at winning. That seems to be an absurd standard.

Point in case, new game, enemy mid already 5-0 and enemy jungler already 4-1 pre 10 minutes. But yea, it's about how I play
ETA: Our Jhin had 4k damage in a 30 minute game. Don't care who you are, you can't win with people on your team who are dying 10 times per game and come in at the bottom of the damage chart as a freaking carry
ETA2: Just frustrating to spend hours playing a game and feel like you have zero control over the outcome because people can't play the game properly

Just gotta win more than you lose. Im not saying you have complete control over every game you lose but you should be able to influence winning more than you lose based on the laws of averages. Those same people you get on your team the enemy team should also be getting on their team just as much

Just finishing up another game...my lee jungle comes top twice to gank a darius with a full wave at my tower, gives him double buffs and two kills, then they dive me and he gets a third kill all before 7 minutes...my mid laner goes 0/6 in 10 minutes and my bot lane is just as bad.
This shite is impossible. I don't even get a chance to get out of lane before the game is over.
ETA: Meh, went from 1 win in my Bo3 to get to Silver 1 and am now down to Silver II 49 LP. Every single game the enemy gained a massive lead in the first 7-10 minutes in every other lane.
Think I'm gonna swap to normals again for a while.

Yeah I know the feels. I can't seem to win more than 2 in a row without dropping 2 or 3 in a row afterwards. Sometimes it's my fault, most times it's not might hit up normals for a few weeks then hope I end up on the winning side of the booster train near the end of the season
