Not if your Bronze III mid is facing a Plat V mid who winds up getting fed.
I would venture to say 90% of the time, I have the least deaths on my team, while the person with the highest death total, can have upwards of 3-4 times my deaths (which is awful).
If you're outclassed, your goal changes from "I need to carry" to "I need to play safe as not to feed the player outclassing me by 3 divisions" and let the other lanes win this one for me.

The game has 4 phases, the 3 lanes + jungle. The more phases that are winning their respective match up, the higher the odds of winning, typically. Sometimes teams have early game comp's and fall off hard late game.
I've never played in bronze so I don't really know about "elo hell" but my smurf will be 30 soon so I may see then.
There was a really good article somewhere that basically explained pretty simply how the LOL matchmaking system worked. I don't know where it is, but in short it said if you think you are better than the people you are playing with / against (ie you should be going up in divisions) you mathematically have a better chance of winning the game, because you have already "won" 1/5th of the game due to your skill being superior. In an individual game this logic may be flawed, but over the course of say 100 games it makes sense. Your team only has the chance of having 4 "bad" players while the other has the chance to have 5 "bad" players.
Not saying it's perfect, but it makes sense - to me anyway.

I see what you're saying, but it would make the most sense just to be playing against your respective tier (+/- 1).
I'm Silver V. I don't mind playing against Silver IV's and III's (or even II or I). But there is no reason for me to playing against a team with 2+ gold players and certainly no reason for the opposing team to have a Plat or higher.
If you're Silver III, you should play against Silver III. If you win, it moves you up since clearly you are better than Silver III and it moves the others down since they aren't better than silver III.
You'll eventually get to a point where you'll start losing. You've hit your plateau (until you get better).
The point at which you stagnate is where you belong until you get better and start moving up again.
I'll play anyone, any rank, any time. I can make do in my lane and survive. I may not carry, but I 100% will not feed.
Just isn't any fun when you can win your lane (or go even), but you have to surrender at 25-30 mins because a Bronze player got stuck against the arbitrary Plat V or Gold I player the other team has.
It is what it is. I've just noticed it happening in increased occurrences lately.

I got it too. First time in a long time. My ping and FPS were fine, but it was insanely delayed with skills registering.

10 game win streak snapped because Kat feeds on purpose after getting butthurt from getting owned early game in lane and goes 2-18. Good stuff.

Honestly I think that is just how promos work. I had a diamond player in every promo game to get to plat, and I'm only now regularly seeing them in Plat 2-3.

And lose my promo with another troll Ashe mid feeds Yas to 9-1 then leaves. This game is so awesome sometimes.

One thing I'm struggling with lately is farming on top lane. I can get to 65-70 cs vs. bots in 10 mins, but vs ranked Riven, Panth, Teemo, its tough for me.
I usually end up playing really defensive and don't feed, but I'm really behind in terms of farm.

This game is just ungodly bad sometimes it's just unreal.
I start the night in my series, lose both, one was tough loss one was from a troll.
Next 2 ranked matched with my duo partner, we get a troll in both. Soraka picks support after Sona, goes bot with the 2 of us, feeds 21 kills and leaves and that's after another troll feeds Yas 10 kills mid and leaves the game.
Just unbelievable how they can't fix this somehow to prevent it. Make ranked pay to play, even if it's just 2.99 a month, that will at least keep most of the troll kids away.
So now I'm down to 40 points, losing 20-25 points per loss and getting 10-14 points per win with my MMR I can't control despite being 66-63 overall in ranked.

I've jumped around from Bronze I to Bronze III the past 2 months. One thing I've learned is this: If you lose your promo series, stop playing for the day 
I've had the same thing happen to me as you just described countless times. I finally got back into Bronze II going ADC primarily.
I just said screw it I'm doing adc because of how many bad ADCs I end up playing with if I'm jungling or supporting.

Yeah I don't think I'll ever get out of Bronze if this is how it is all the way through.
I figured if I made it to Bronze 1/2 you wouldn't ever play with any Bronze 5's and thus no trolls but apparently all of Bronze is a trollfest.
End the night at 7LP after being in my B3 series to start, 5 of 7 games had a troll feed from the start because he got pissed off or didn't get his champ/lane and no one dodged. Just quality gaming.

When I get back from work in 2 weeks I'm gonna get my smurf to 30 (lev 28 now) and we can duo if you want. I'm not the greatest but I think I can help you get out of bronze if your up for it.

Yeah I could always use another good duo partner, I've got one now and we've had a lot of success until troll city came out tonight in the biggest way since I've been playing.

If you go back to the previous page I posted a screenshot of recent games with my duo support buddy, I prefer adc or support or Jung, adc main.

Oh yeah - duh. My bad...
I play a game or two on the weekends here at work but I'm overseas and my ping is like 250 so I'm pretty terrible. I did play a ranked last weekend to keep from getting that decay and somehow we managed to win. I went Nunu jungle just to buff the ADC and ward since he doesn't require much reaction time at all
