So you never play ranked on any champion?

It certainly helps, but I wouldn't even play ranked with him until I was completely confident in my ability to play him successfully on my own merit.

Oh it most certainly does help, but a lot of players want to sacrifice team comp/chemistry for the sake of grabbing a knock up champ. And in solo games, it's still quite difficult to time it correctly.

As of late Yas is one of the champs I ban if I'm fortunate enough for first pick.

Wouldnt picking a knock up champion with Yasou make your team comp/chemistry with the team better?

Every champ that I've played in ranked more than once I have at least a 50% winrate with.

I'm pretty sure you would actually have to try to pick a team with nothing that would synergize with his ult. Every little displacement can do it.

With him specifically, yes. However, I'm not gonna switch from a thresh support to a malphite just bc you want a knock up. (Yes I got bitched at by a random bc I stuck with thresh.)

Basically, if we have a good team comp as it is, I don't feel it necessary to change everything just because someone picks yasuo and thinks we should all change solely to synergize with his ult. There's many other things to factor in.

Not to mention, doesn't he have a knock up of his own?

That's what I thought, which is why I was perplexed when he bitched at me

I've never played as Yas so I have no idea what works and what doesn't.

The number of stuff that works with his ult is big. Theres very few champs that are actually picked that don't offer some way for him to ult.
Im confused.. Are you talking about blind pick? because if you have a good team comp already how is a guy going to get you to change a champion you have locked in

I've experienced both. Sometimes I'll play blind pick with some buddies who haven't gotten enough champs yet. This is generally where I have the issues with Yas players raging at the team because maybe we don't want to play a champ with one or multiple knock ups.

ETA: In some instances the Yas is first pick and sees me debating on thresh or leona for support. Gets mad and tells me if I want to win, I need to pick knock ups. Proceeds to feed mid and make our game that much tougher.

You control thresh's flay by where you place your cursor in relation to thresh. If its behind him, he will pull, in front, he will push away. It doesn't matter which way he is 'facing'.

no, it does matter where he is facing.

consider: what if you put the cursor directly 90 deg to his left or right?

when you smart cast, you have to have him facing a certain direction, other wise he will just flay like you described but you can completely miss your target and neither pull nor push them because they wont be in the flay.

It doesn't matter which way he is facing. Think of it like this: wherever the cursor is in relation to thresh, is the way the flay will be directed. its not constricted to two direction because of where he is facing. You have 360 degrees of control over this ability. I know my explanation may be a little hard to follow. But I think my picture was pretty self explanatory.

Turn smart cast off and click the ability. Before you you cast it, notice you can rotate the arrows around thresh 360 degrees.

I'm aware. I've played the champion and fricked up the flay like this its possible to happen in the way I described.

the issue isnt my understanding of how it works but my mechanics. my fingers go full retard on thresh for some reason when I have to take into account rotation and what not. I may not be describing my issue to you properly.

it might be more accurate to say the direction I'm facing matters to me

Let's assume I am facing towards the bottom of the map. As I look at my screen, dragon is to my left, and nothing to my right.

Let's say I wanted to flay the drag (no pun intended). Would I:

A) Still facing downward, move my cursor onto the dragon, and smartcast E

B) Actually right click towards dragon to turn thresh from facing downward to facing the dragon (my left as I face the screen), then smartcast E

I'm sure I'm sounding dense here, but it seems like if I try to flay in a direction I am not facing, thresh will not turn that direction to flay when I smartcast (unless I do it manually). Instead, he will simply flay, in the direction he is facing when I hit E.
