PoE has become very stale. The idea of running it makes me uncomfortable.

Not sure if grinding raids for the weapons is even worth it with TTK coming out.

Don't know how the mechanics will work out with ascending weapons and all that jazz. I'm in a holding pattern until then. I am still grinding for my hopscotch however.

I'm basically running dragon strikes hoping for a hopscotch, playing control (just got my matador 64 2 days ago), leveling my new warlock subclasses now that he's 34 and stockpiling weapon parts in anticipation of the patch and being prepared to deal with it. Ignoring raids and PoE for the time being.

I've turned in to a primary PVP player for the first time in the history of my gaming. TTK can't come soon enough with some solid PVE content.

I ran some VOG Hard with a PUG group last night. Beat it twice, still no Vex.

That is now 18 VOG hard modes completed and no Vex. Swear I thought I had a bigger gripe. Still bad RNG.

By the way people still suck at VOG in a PUG. Had this girl going on and on about how Atheon's Epilogue was so good. I was quite.

The thing is we really don't know how the mechanics of the transition will work out. Bungie is playing it too close to the vest for comfort in my opinion. I believe this whole situation is manufactured to keep us playing the current version as if there is not a huge expansion and sweeping changes just on the horizon.

I'd rather play catch up later than know I wasted a whole bunch of time grinding for stuff that is now obsolete.

So for now I will just keep playing dragon strikes and pvp until we hear something concrete on how this whole transition will go.

I hear you. I am now just hoarding etheric light. No point in upgrading stuff that will be out of date soon. Chances are they make etheric light obsolete too though.

If I had stuff to actually level up, I'd be the same way. I have next to nothing that isn't fulling leveled, though. The highlight of my week is playing Trials every weekend.

I just got my Matador 64 upgraded (Shot package, field choke, small bore) and thinking about using my last etheric light on it for iron banner tonight.

I pretty much stopped doing POE all together and I don't play ToO because I don't A) Have a good group and B) don't have a thorn.

Thus I am down to 1 etheric light right now.

I think I have like 30 light... All comes from Trials or Banner as I have only beat Skolas like twice lol.

That Totes guy likes to carry me in Trials.

I had 12 at one point, then I started using it willy nilly and at the same time stopped gathering it. I think I've probably used 30 by now, mostly on different armor setups. probably 10 on weapons.

I like the changes. Reddit has a megathread summing up all the changes. Heres a copy and paste:

Summary of the Game Informer news (Credit - /u/Mawnix):
•Level cap raised to 40
•Cryptarch rewards from engrams are now more in line with the type of Engram you got
•The second half of the Taken King apparently starts once you reach the Endgame (Questlines throughout the Destiny Universe!)
•Your Ghost can now scan objects to offer more insight into the world's lore (IE, scan a Cabal soldier, gives you info on their Military Regiment)
•You can now turn in Bounties without returning to the Bounty Board!
•Intelligence, Discipline, and Strength now have numerical "tiers" that decide their influence on your character
•A new progress system where you sacrifice an existing piece of gear that belongs to the same slot (? Kind of confused about this and this is literally how it's read)
•The Tower and its NPCs have been retooled to offer quests/story/insight into the world as you level up your character from 1-40 (!!!! Cryptarch, Gunsmith, etc questlines!!!!)
•Entire base game/expansions retooled for narrative and access purposes to make much more sense (Example: after meeting the Queen for the first time, the Reef is open to you)
•Subclasses, old and new, have their own questlines (?)
•GUNSMITH NOW HAS A REP AND THE HIGHER YOUR REP, THE MORE "PROTOTYPE WEAPONS" HE OFFERS FOR YOU TO "TEST IN THE FIELD" FOR REP. Reaching a certain Rep with Banshee allows you access to "Armsday", a weekly purchase that allows you to ORDER LEGENDARY GUNS with GLIMMER.
•Crucible and Vanguard Marks are gone! ALL HAIL THE UNIVERSAL "LEGENDARY MARKS" FOR LEGENDARY VENDOR PURCHASES!
•Class specific materials needed for upgrading are gone! Hadronic Essences, Armor Plating, etc. have been replaced by "Armor Materials", making it easier to utilize materials on one character towards another to progress them.
•NO LONGER FORCED TO WEAR A CLASS ITEM WHEN LEVELLING UP NEW MONARCHY, DEAD ORBIT, OR FWC (you pledge to each faction!)
•You can turn in materials to these above factions for a Rep Gain (like the Speaker with Glimmer)
•NEW SYSTEM THAT RECORDS ALL SHADERS AND, ONCE YOU'VE GAINED IT, YOU'RE ABLE TO CHOOSE FROM THEM ANYTIME YOU VISIT THE SYSTEM (also shows you the Shaders you don't have AND HOW TO OBTAIN THEM!)
•Same above system with Emblems!
•New Exotics are tied into Questlines!
•RAIL GUN FUSION RIFLE HEAVY WEAPON EXOTIC HNNNNNG YE SON YOU READ THAT RIGHT.
•Eight new Crucible Maps
•Weekly Crucible and Trials bounties! Complete all 5 of the Weeklies for the week, and you gain access to a 6th that has a chance to reward you either a Legendary or Exotic!
•ENDGAME THAT EXPLORES PREVIOUS ENDGAME (Vault of Glass) AND FURTHERS TO STORY EVEN AFTER FINISHING THE STORY MISSIONS
•Bosses/mechanics that aren't purely Bullet Sponge-y!
•Crucible has a "mercy rule" (Thank you /u/optimal_ac)

1 year later, the beta testing is over and they are fixing a lot of the huge issues with the game it seems.

Just saw an article about abandoning the light system. I'm surprised it took that long honestly. I never thought it was a great idea to make your level completely depend on the equipped armor.

I understand why they used the light system, because it does tie in with the mythos of the game really well. However, it's a stupid way to do a leveling system.

What I am curious to discover is if all of our characters will start at level 20 when TTK drops or will we be lvl 34 as we should be.
