Which is still okay. You don't HAVE to fight her now. You can ignore it, and come back when you're ready.

If you don't want to use a ring you can just bone out.

That's what I did because I discovered Dancer at SL40 just isn't worth it. Anyone who can get through a SL1 run is a god among men.

I got to the Soul of Cinder last night, so I only have the nameless king and soul of cinder left on my NG+.

The time commitment required to Plat this game is stupid, but it shouldn't be too much longer now.

Yeah I'm about halfway through NG+ collecting rings, but I've about lost interest. My rings-run routine has been to equip sorcery boosting rings, the slumbering dragon ring, and cast hidden body. Just run through the levels, grab the +1 rings, then rush the boss. Switch rings to the miracles boosting ones, and then sunlight spear the bosses.

Haven't played in a week and still need to finish my first play through. Nameless king and the final boss is all I have left. Its killing me, I just want to finish!

Last time playing I gave Nameless king a try, one hit and I was dead. I can tell thats gonna be fun.

Finished Soul of Cinder in NG+ last night... I've put so much time into this game already. Usurp the Flame ending was 100% my favorite, and I think it's the canon ending

It's sick how much stronger one handed straight swords are than 2 handed stamina stealing weapons like the Uchi I used in my first playthrough... oh well. Off to get my last gestures, miracles, spells, and rings in NG+2 and then... just maybe... a sl1 playthrough

also just like Zombie, this describes my sentiments almost to a T

**So major spoilers for those that have beaten the game**

So I saw a really awesome theory that basically says... your actions in DS2 created what we are seeing in DS3. In the scholar of the first sin you take the 4 Lord's souls and "walk away" - you have the crowns, you are never hollowing, so you just take the 4 Lords souls (that have been brought to Drangleic) and just leave forever. This causes the first flame to begin to fade... but unlike previous cycles, there are no Lords to rekindle the fire - so back to the other side of the world, the original Kiln of the First Flame, it kinda goes into this desperation mode and begins summoning all of the souls who have linked the fires over the previous cycles, along with unkilded, ones who had failed, to bring together enough of the old cinders... to "replicate" the Lord Souls. Unfortunately this method is not as successful as the Lords souls had been in the past... and so in a last act of desperation: summons an ere of the Gods of Old: on top of his old kingdom: Lothric, who also happened to be the creator of the Firelink Shrine you now stand on (or at least his mum is)

I also would not be surprised if Aldia and Kaathe where in the Prince of Lothric's ear, the religion of Lothric sure does seem to follow the will of Aldia and Kaathe. This would have put the princess at extreme odds against Gwynevere their Grand-mom, or Mom. Who probably turned around and used the Princes' sister: Gertrude to fight a civil war against the Princes in order to force them into linking the fire. I don't believe Gertrude won - she was locked away in the castle (you find her miracle in the cage) and the Princes took their mother - ripped out her tongue, and locked her away in the Cathedral of the deep... or at least, her soul.

**** END SPOILERS ****

Got my dark sword maxed out, its kinda ridiculous.

Dark Souls 3 is uncle Rico.

The princes are the most interesting characters in the game, and I wish they were more involved somehow. It would be interesting if you had the option to fight them or fight along side the remainder of the game. They realize that it's all bullshite and that mankind is lessened with each linking. There is no undead curse.

I like the usurp ending but feel like it's just a variation of the dark ending. You become a dark lord, but it's inevitable that someone will come along and usurp it from you. I was hoping for more finality -- the cycle is broken forever and either nature or dragons will re inherit the world. It feels like that's what the game is trying to imply in the beginning but it never materialized, i.e., the stone dragons, the hollows forming into trees, the abyss hollows. The lore of 3 simply feels like a half-baked concoction of ideas that are never expounded on, mixed with some silly youtube fanfic.

Just picked this game up. The little mini-boss off to the side of the tutorial was a nice warm-up. It had been a while since I played a Souls game so I appreciated the ability to readjust to the controls with a challenging yet manageable "boss" right off the bat. I actually found the side boss harder than the actual tutorial boss. Love the feel of this game so far, although I feel like the newer games have added more and more invincibility frames. Dodging feels so easy compared to the first Dark Souls.

They did, but the cap is slightly lower as well, but it starts higher, way higher. It's 13 iFrames from 0% to 80%, in dark souls 2 you started with 5... and it could go up to 16

and if I had to guess, bloodborne was probably around 15-16

Dark Souls' lore in general has always been overrated to me. Bloodborne destroys Dark Souls in terms of lore.

I summoned against Dancer. I feel dirty. That giant spin was getting me too often.

I'm not sure I'd use overrated to describe it. I'd say it just leaves a LOT open to interpretation. The basic concepts are there, and you REALLY have to dig to find the meat of it all, but there's a lot of blanks to fill in with speculation and theory. Some people really love that kind of thing, others like more concrete foundation. I personally never got into it more than the chronological timeline of each game in relation to each other. I really do enjoy seeing remnants of past Souls games in newer installments, though.

I can't even beat the second boss(or first if you don't include the guy you get the sword to light Firelink Shrine from). This game is kicking my arse as much as the first Dark Souls did. I hate it and love it at the same time.

I genuinely think 3 is the worst in the series, but the farming killed any enjoyment I had. Shame on From for those awful drop rates.
