Possibly related to Volvagia? Or is it something new?

A lot of people are speculating this new character/boss/whatever may somehow be related to the infamous Volvagia from OoT. However, this is quite a flawed idea considering no matter the timeline (defeat and success), Volvagia is defeated either way en route to the final battle for Hyrule. Most likely a new character altogether. That or the biggest boss in the history of the Zelda franchise.

However, you also have to consider that it is quite easy to tell that the setting is an open area. So, you decide for yourself. Here's the picture. Link is to the commercial as well.

Here's a picture of Volvagia, to show that even if it's not the same creature, well....

Why can't Nintendo just simply make Zelda look realistic instead of doing that textured cartoon looking bullshite. It is what keeps it from being more marketable IMO.

I don't mind them switching it up. Wind Waker is a great game and looks really good. They need to have SOMETHING to mix things up because there's only so many ways you can tell the Link/Zelda/Gannon story.

Realistic Zelda is kind of meh. It would lose a significant amount of charm.

Does the market need yet another gory, realistic open-world simulator?

Realistic Zelda ages like arse.

Cartoon Zelda ages with class.

And BOTW graphics and style I think are perfect. It looks amazing

I'm hoping BOtW gets a direct sequel. Like you said, mix it up.

Also I hate waiting 6 years between titles

Because they don't want it to look the same as the million other fantasy action/rpg games out there. I think this style is perfect for the series.

As for the dragon it was already heavily implied in Hyrule Historia that Valoo from Windwaker was a descendant of Volvagia. So this wouldn't really be anything new nor have any timeline implications.

I enjoy the timeline as an abstract concept. I don't bother myself with the details too much and no creative choices should be made with strict adherence in mind...it's a tacked on thing that's kind of cool and it fits surprisingly well considering they didn't really pay it any mind until twilight princess

This.

The entire concept used to be a meta-commentary on the Hero and Hero's Journey. The timeline stuff kind of drifted away from that a bit. I don't mind, but I'm not bothering myself with the minutia. I approach each LoZ as it's own thing with easter eggs and references more than anything else.

That photo made me hard and sad at the same time.

Because I know I won't be able to get my hands on a Switch or Breath of the Wild for at least a month.

There is a report that midnight launches WILL have extra Switches outside of the Preorders.....

Target apparently doesn't do pre-orders for in store pick ups. So that's going to be my go to.

.....I hope by sequel you mean expansion pack because the some bitch has already announced another story altogether DLC wise. Think of it as a poor man's Majora's Mask.

Apparently the Wii U version of the game has been downloaded and details are starting to spread. Spoilers for the entire game will be abound within the next couple of days so tread carefully if you're avoiding spoilers.
