It's back and I begrudgingly bought the premium excel deluxe super edition. While gameplay is still similar to last year I bought for the EASHL 3v3 and the new updated Adidas sweaters.
Anyone else buy and what are your thoughts so far?

I'll be getting it tomorrow, played the beta, love the 3vs3 both the arcade and regular eashl. Hopefully next year NHL will be on frostbite.

I got the standard edition and even that was really really tough to do this year.
Beta was basically the exact same game as 17 and early reviews are bad for that same reason, Polygon gave it a damn 6.5 and said there is no reason to buy if you played 17.
Oh well, I'll get my money worth still screwing around in HUT and EASHL, probably. Don't really care about the 3v3.

Yeah if you don't care about 3v3 then it's probably not worth the buy. I've got two others that play religiously so we'll get 100+ hours in on EASHL easily

I haven't played since '16. How different is 18 than that one?
I'd want to play mostly for updated rosters and 3 v 3 sounds pretty sweet.

Same as everyone else, I didn't notice a fricking difference. One of the things I saw touted was teambuilder with Vegas joining this year... well it's the same teambuilder as last year

This is the worst game I've ever purchased. Gameplay is awful, things happen with the puck that aren't even possible, goals get taken away from you because of a glitch, and the AI is the worst in a sports video game

There's no way the developers test played this or if they did they don't play it enough regularly to see what a crap product it is.
Or they just don't care because they have a monopoly on the market. Likely this.

From what I have read they are very much in danger of the franchise being cancelled. There may not be an NHL 20, especially at this rate.
Sales are shite, the gameplay is declining, and it's not growing as a result.

If NHL gets cancelled after NCAA I'll have no sports games left other than MLB that interest me. What a shame

17 only sold 760K copies in North America. That is so damn bad.
Compare that to Maddens almost 5m, and FIFAs 2.5m and yikes.
