Just curious but would anyone buy a new NFL 2k if they were to release one? That game was the sole reason my parents bought me a SEGA Dreamcast way back in 1999, and that game was amazing. I also really like Sonic the Hedgedog, but I digress. I was thinking about this game the other day and it really revolutionized sports games for the time. I even remember getting one version where you could play from the First Person POV, and that was just incredible.

I know Madden has the NFL on lock, but if 2K was able to put out another NFL game I would definitely buy it! NBA2K is always great and I haven't bought an NBA live since maybe 2006 lol. What do you guys think?

I would in a second. The NFL2k games were far and away better than Madden. The graphics and controls were so much more fluid that I have never played Madden or NCAA again after playing NFL2k.

I would buy an NFL game from anyone but EA.

Would love it if SCE San Diego (devs of MLB The Show) could get their hands on the NFL license.

Just think how good NBA 2k is right now. NFL 2k would've run Madden off the way NBA 2k ran Live off. EA knew the threat that 2k Sports was to them.

Now THEY could go head to head vs 2k in making a quality game. The Show is an excellent series.

Yeah that team does a great job, the franchise mode is unreal. I hope the NFL can broaden their horizon soon, because it seems like everything that EA is putting their hands on is turning to shite. I got the new PGA tour and I am not impressed. We need to shut down the Sports game monopoly that is EA Sports!

eta: oh and the trophy rooms on 2k were amazing. Madden doesn't have any trophy rooms.

+1

NFL2k5 vs Madden 15 Gameplay

It still holds up well. I remember how Madden was bragging about gang tackling when 2k5 had it 5 years earlier.

2k just needs to have the balls to go ahead and make a college football game. If they take their time and do it right, people would go to the NFL mob style demanding they grant 2k rights to make a NFL 2k whatever.

2k Sports obtained the rights to 10 college teams through the CLC for NBA 2k. I'm starting to think that they may jump on a College Football game to beat EA to the punch. If they just picked up all the teams individually they could make a great game with tons of customization for people to make online files of conferences/bowls/players and such. I'm really optimistic for next year

Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen. There are way too many hurdles to cross for 2K to do so. It is a step in the right direction though.

Yea, if that is truly their plan they should already have an engine to go for this gen of consoles.

I'd buy any version of an NFL game not made by that lazy sack of shite company that makes Madden.

Madden has never to this day been able to come close to matching the football feel of 2k. That game engine was amazing. Imagine if competition had happened instead of chickenshit EA forcing 2k out of the business.

Every single aspect of 2k was better.

And the "superstar" modes on EA have always been pathetic excuses. 2k nailed the shite out of the rpgesque aspect of these games.

God I hate everything about EA.

Speaking of how shitty EA is. Why do they not make NFL Street anymore?

EaSports BIG went under after a couple failed games Im pretty sure. I'd welcome another street if it were similar to 1 or 2.
