Anyone else in on this? I believe the first beta weekend I can participate in is March 8th (Torchlight 2 pre-order)

Not sure if there are multiple servers or whatnot but my username on that system is Dragonbaitt (two t's) so feel free to add me if you're in.

I played the original Neverwinter which was pretty fun, a little monotonous after a while since it didn't have much in the way of online play, but hopefully they do this right (similar to the first Dragon Age) but in an MMO style without the crap PerfectWorld loves to pull... pay to win.

Bump as the 3rd beta weekend starts tonight at midnight.

If you don't have a key already check out https://www.reddit.com/r/neverwinter they have a ton of giveaways linked right now and I got one from some IGN thing. You're supposed to answer a question based on a page number from their magazine.. but some guy put all the answers online.

I'm anticipating the open beta in 2 weeks.

personally, I think the final product will be good.

NWN nails the "fantasy" setting imo

Watching a stream right now and it looks like a cross between LotRO and WoW.

Well the mmo genre kinda sucks at the moment.

this looks very very promising, though. Dungeons&dragons rule set in Neverwinter with thousands of characters. Instances, quests, exploration etc

Gonna be a good one.

I've been playing it. Not your usual "ui" based mmo. Plays fluid so far. Won't go into much detail due to the nda, but seems like it will be good at release. Not sure I would buy the $200 founder pack, but the $60 option is one I'm considering. I really want to get in on the eso beta so I'll know if it's were my attention and money will go.

I decided to give it a shot, if I get 15 hours out of it then I get what most $60 games give me, I went with the $59.99 option too, some interesting perks in there.

I've been tempted to do the same. I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced.

Does it play like a D&D game mechanics-wise? And this may be a dumb question, but is it better than DDO?

I haven't played it yet, the package I am downloading will give me beta access, the stream I watch looked pretty good. DDO wasn't a bad game you just HAD to spend money to experience the game.

Watching RummelTiger take out the trash on the OT bomb thread right now.

That's kinda the frustrating part. The leveling system is rewarding since it takes quite a while to level up, but you pretty much have to either loop quests or buy content to get extra quests to gain XP.

Having said that though, it's still pretty fun getting a small party together and going on dungeon runs.

Yeah the stream I saw of the last NW beta looked pretty good. Almost GW2-ish.

Awesome. I loved gw2 and got 2 chars to max level. Just became too grindy at max

And the "lore" and personal quests kinda sucked.

But exploring the world and leveling was awesome

This may make me a casual gamer, but I still haven't even touched any of my toons' personal story quests. To me the most fun part about GW2 is exploring, group PVE and crafting. And I still don't have a max lvl toon yet (just got lvl 65 on my Mesmer last night).

certainly the best parts of gw2

as long as you have fun, thats all that really matters.

as long as this Neverwinter MMO has a GREAT version of the above 3, along with some decent quests i will love it

the GW2 personal story is kind of lame for people who like to solo. You have to find a group to do Arah story and it can be 2-3 hours of hell if your group cant sit still, read, pay attention, play their class etc.

But finding random jump puzzles, mysterious caves, side quests in the middle of nowhere... GW2 did excellent at that.

I still have it installed and consider playing it often.
