Need a new game recommendation please

Was thinking about picking up max Payne 3 as I love pretty much all rockstar games (except LA noire) but have never played any of the max payne games. Is the new on any good?
Are there any other new games that someone would recommend for me to pick up? I've heard good things about witcher 2 but really not sure I would like that kind of game.
Any suggestions are good though
