NBA Jam (2012 version)

I loved that arcade game back in the day. Fed many, many quarters into those machines. The Suns were my team. KJ, Barkley, & Marjele ftw!
If there was a current rosters version, OKC would be the team to use. Durant, Westbrook, and Harden. Maybe Ibaka instead of Harden but OKC's stars would be tough on that game.
Paul/Griffin, Wade/James, Terry/Nowitski, Igoudala/Holiday, Nelson/Reddick/Howard, Rose/Deng/Boozer would be other tough match ups.

for a 2-man team, you would be hard pressed to top James-Wade, Parker-Duncan, or Rondo-Garnett

You haven't played this game online, have you?

Why? Do they suck balls online?
I haven't played it that much. Just sits on my HD taking up space.

3 point shooting and steals are all that matter online.

I have not. Thanks for the heads up I'll check it out next weekend.

Exactly.
That's why DWade is the best to play with. Steals and shoot 3's. Worse comes to worse Lebron running down the lane for an easy oop.
I'd average a quadruple double with Wade

Me and my roommate would dominate you. We go with Rondo/Allen. Speed, steals, and 3's.

This game worth getting, KK?

I have the version from about 2 years ago. It has updated rosters and all, but I don't know if me and OP are talking about the same versions.
I got hours out of enjoyment of it. Especially fun to play with or against a friend. With a good pair and teamwork you can dominate.
I think I even got the achievement for doubling the opposing team's score. Which on NBA Jam with how the other team plays in the 4th is a ridiculous feat.
TRUEtoLSU. I'll take the combined 10+ inches of height difference in that matchup any day of the week. Not to mention Rondo can't shoot worth a shite anyhow

There's a version available for download for $15. Supposedly fixed a lot of the issues the disc version had.

We'll have to give it a go one night. I haven't been on xbox lately. Still on minecraft?

that's it then.
i think i originally paid $40 or $50 for it. Not worth that price. But I would say I definitely got my moneys worth from it.
There are several different modes within the game too.
Break The BackBoard - basically play until you shatter the backboard with enough power dunks/oops. So you really have to pick two players from your selected team that both can dunk.
21 - 1v1v1 first one to 21. typical rules apply. Frustrating because I'll play lockdown D all day long. The 3rd player will get the loose balls and end up with essentially free points. Rebounding is key.
HotSpot - My favorite. certain parts of the court are worth more than others. 1-3. You have to control these areas by making shots at them and defending them. As long as you hold a spot you get points from it. First team or player to 100. Also frustrating because the 3rd player won't play D worth a shite and gets all the loose balls. Got to rebound to even have a chance.
Remix - typical 2v2 fullcourt but there are all kinds of powerups that spawn on the court (power, quickness, rubber, and shrinking too)
Boss Battles for each division is pretty awesome too. You play an entire division, then you play the boss team. Which typically consists of some Legend from one of the teams in the regions.
For example:
Pacific Division is 1v1 Magic. Magic well, he's magical. He'll pass the ball into mid-air then disappear, then re-appear to catch the pass to himself. Fairly hard to defend.
SouthWest Division is 1vs1 Yao. Yao is insanely tall at the beginning but the more you score in a row on him the more he shrinks. Until he is almost tiny. Harder than it sounds.
1vs1 Larry Bird. This one sucks balls. He makes nearly every jumper he takes. If he catches fire, or makes 3 in a row. He launches rainbow 3's. The ball goes off the screen and then it comes down as 3 balls. therefore 9 points at once. Game is pretty much over if he catches fire.

Yea I was talking about the coin op arcade version from the early 90's.
I'm gonna have to check out the new version. Obviously I'm not a gamer. I've only got a ps2 that I've not turned on in almost 2 years. I keep talking myself out of getting a 360 or ps3. Everytime I go to drop $500 on a new gaming set up I think about what I can buy or upgrade for my Bronco or other cars.
