Game overall is awesome.

Why is the shooting so fricking impossible?

My roommate played the CPU and neither shot better than 19% (GSW vs Cleveland).

3 point shooting is ridiculous. CUrry and THompson miss wide open 3s. Have not gotten a Perfect release on a 3 a single time.

Also, point guards strip or block big guys way too often in the paint.

solid game tho.....

Meh. I shoot just fine. Have better shot selection. If I shoot under 50% it's a "bad" game. I don't even use the super teams

Yeah I don't have any trouble shooting at least 45% on HoF.

It takes learning release points. On play now online I try to stick with just a few teams I know everyone's release. Park and pro am takes finding a jumper that works for your player.

Use Tony Parker's Shooting Style.

Thank me later.

Whoops, you're talking about team play, do not thank me as my advice is useless.

The game makes no sense as far as shooting goes. A perfect example; last night with JR Smith, I missed a wide open 3 in transition, and nailed a last second fade away 3 from 30 feet

I must've missed somewhere that every open three should go in. Hopefully 2K fixes that next year!!

Some 2k Tips:

Learn to play ON BALL DEFENSE!
Last night I was playing a guy that would take control of his C and coast on Defense. I had like 10 assist passing inside on cuts or when my C was under the basket without anyone in the passing lane.

There's other shots than the 3 pointer!!!
I almost like playing Warriors users because 75% of them just chuck up threes no matter how well it's covered. I recently just started using the Celtics after using the Blazers too much, they have 3 actual 3 point shooters on the whole team. Crowder, Bradley and God forbid I have to play Jerebko. So, really, I usually play with two 3 pointers because I don't like Jerebko (unless I'm playing an off baller, then I use Jerebko to hit 3s while the noob opponent is sitting in the paint.) I made a comeback against the Spurs the other night without having to hit 3s. Solid on ball defense and smart decisions.

As others said, learn releases and styles!
Learn plays as well. My Blazers style: off ball screens, P&R with the CJ, playing Lillard off ball. Celtics: Small ball when needing points, slightly larger small ball when needing defense . Honestly, the Cs are a perfect tier 2 team. Find lineups that work for many purposes, not just your best 3pt shooting linup, otherwise, prepare to rage quit a lot online.

ETA: I hated when they took out the 1-3-1 zone, but I actually like that now. Before you could sit with your C in the paint and as long as you avoided being in the paint for too long, you didn't have to do much. I don't think I play anyone else that uses zone anymore.

I think Atlanta is the perfect tier 2 team. They have multiple guys who can knock down the 3 ball (Horford included), and they are fast and play a very good on ball defense scheme. I, like you, enjoy playing the Warriors because I know all I have to do is play on ball D against Curry and sometimes Thompson. Curry is still ridiculously good in the game, but he's not going to drop 70 points on me, so I know 9 times out of 10 I am going to win.

One thing that is LARGELY overlooked (and overpowering) is the momentum swings in this game. Good fricking lord they are absolutely terrible. If you are playing on the road, be prepared to use timeouts like they are going out of style. It's almost as if your job as the road team is to make 5 consecutive shots, and then call a timeout just in case the other team is about to make a 3 pointer. I absolutely hate the way they've coded home court advantage.

It's almost like some wide open shots miss and some contested shots go in in real life.

I want to try Atlanta. I was looking at their guys last night but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm hell bent on getting into the HoF (or whatever the top one is) tier. I'm halfway through College now, I've won something like 8 straight now.

I feel like a lineup of Schroeder, Teague, Korver/Bazemore, Millsap and Horford is quick enough to guard anyone and yet big enough in the post to punish poor bigs. They just don't have a dominant defender. With Portland, I have Aminu and Lillard is quick enough I can usually catch up to slashing guards. I can always hide Korver though.

ROad games are tough as shite!Idk if I like it or not. On one hand, winning in the Oracle, San Antonio, LAL in their prime, was a daunting task. The Warriors haven't lost at home in like two seasons? But on the other hand, nobody fears playing the .500 teams on the road. They're winnable games. I play in an association with my roommate and we usually split our games, home team being winner

You'd be surprised at the level of defense the Hawks have. Bazemore is very quick at the 3 to stop a lot of the drives. When he's not on the floor, you can run out Thabo who has made his name off playing great defense. Teague/Schroeder are shifty little frickers who you can utilize to slide over and prevent a drive and kick by the PG. Horford is really a glorified PF playing at the 5, so the only thing he struggles to do is grab boards. However, I feel rebounds are a coin toss anyways. I've seen 3-4 of my guys under the basket go up for a rebound just to watch the ball "fall out of their hands" and into the hands of their PG who had no business being under the rim in the first place.

Give the Hawks a try. Also, when you are playing, change your substitution method from Rotational to Fatigue. It keeps your starters in their longer if you play a slower paced game.

On the topic of momentum, while it can be frustrating on the wrong end of it, I LOVE the added layer it brings to the game. It makes the game seem much more real. You can feel your team steamrolling or can feel the other team ramping up. It's most fun in MyCareer, IMO. You can just tell when your guy is feeling it and is going to go off if you play well.

Hmmm, I may have to change my sub method. I usually sub once I notice my starters aren't out playing the other team's bench anymore. Or if I start slow, I pull a Pop and pull the whole starting 5 2 minutes into the game

I'm going to give the Hawks a try tomorrow. I just made College (I was Junior college before.) having won my last 9 straight. My last 3 games were against the Lakers One guy messaged me before the game telling me it would be embarrassing on my part to quit against the Lakers. At the half I was up 11, he rage quit sometime in the 4th quarter.

Next game I play, another Laker user, and I can't hit jack. Isiah Thomas is the worst 85 and above player. Maybe 80 and above. He's small, not fast enough to justify his height, and the guy in charge of atts believes he's nothing special shooting either. I got blocked at the rim 2 times and failed to score in transition a few times because Isiah just can't score with contact. Down 4 with ~40 seconds left, I had a lineup of Thomas/Bradley/Hunter/Jerebko/Crowder on the court to try to create something in transition or find an open 3. I sub in Sullinger to the PF spot and the shot clock winds down and I find him in the corner for a 3 with 1 sec left! Lakers guy turns ball over next possession, I score in transition, ball game.

The last 2 minutes of that game was about as intense as it can get. My opponent was a terrific on ball defender and made my life hell trying to get in the lane. That + his offense though simple, wwas working. He'd iso Russell then drive the lane. He'd either get to rim after five cross overs and get fouled, or he'd get 2 points with my guy draped all over him on the layup. 6-0 with the C's. 9-0 with Portland. I need to start up another streak

I can barely hit a shot with JJ Redick because his release is way too quick. But I make about 50% 3's with guys like Jae Crowder.

I havent played online lately but i use to have this problem where my guy would release the shot later than i wanted him to. Like when i released the shoot button the bar still kept going like it was delayed? Did anyone else have that problem and was it fixed?

Sounds like lag. Every action is delayed to?

I just tried the Hawks. They're a nice team. I love having post players. Teague and Schroeder are better around the rim than Thomas I played this lineup for most of the game: Schroeder/Teague/Thabo/Millsap/Horford with Korver as the 6th man off the bench. Only problem is Horford/Millsap don't rebound. I played LAC and Deandre was gobbling up rebounds. The only reason the other dude was in it was due to his 12 2nd chance points.

I move to 9-0 with the C's.

Lost my first game with the C's the other night. I was up 10 with 2:30 to go against The LeBrons. Scored one basket and gave up three 3s. His only 3s of the game. I gave up like 18 points in that time frame. Was unbelievable.

I'm benching Isiah for now on. Smart is a bully defensively and offers about the same shooting.

Does anyone shoot without Shot Feedback? I'm trying it out with just the the shot meter (love it when I hit green) and I tend to focus on the shot release more than just looking at if its Slighty early etc.
