Another question. Are the skills camps with HoF guys worth it? I tried out the Larry Bird one for 400 and I definitely got more bonuses out of it than if I upgraded the skills individually.

Heck yeah, especially the MJ one. There's a reason you can only to like 2 a year.

No idea there were limitations on it. First 2K basketball game I've ever played.

6/6 3PTers
bunch of layups an easy 10-15 jumpers.

34-7-6-3-1

pretty meh game minus shooting 100%
It's time to quit playing on Pro, bro.

I couldn't handle HoF difficulty because the AI sliders pretty much max out while your teammates remain at "retard" status.

You HAVE to have Floor General and Defensive Anchor on your player to be able to compete on HoF. It's an absolute must. Dimer is also key, even if you aren't PG. Being able to raise the percentage of your teammates' shot is one of the most OP skills in the game. That's why I love playing for Dallas. The added team AI is a thing of absolute beauty. The longer you play with a team, they record what you tendencies on offense are, and the teammate AI adjusts to your style of play. After playing with Dallas for a whole year and getting a 99% teammate chemistry, we are a well oiled machine. I can penetrate then find either OJ Mayo, Vince Carter, or Dirk standing wide open in the corner, dish it out, swish. Every damn time.

You get your teammates to take jump shots? I find that when I drive and dish my teammates just hold the ball and pass it back to me with less than 10 seconds on the clock.

Each player has their own tendencies. I got lucky being put on Dallas because the majority of the players' tendencies are to shoot when they get the ball. Vince will nearly always take an open 3 point shot, same for Mayo. Dirk can go retard sometimes, but most of the time he'll shoot the open jumper. Collison on the other hand, will drive into 4 people and chuck up a layup. He doesn't get the ball....ever.

ETA: But like I said in the post above, the longer you play with a certain team, the more the AI studies your offensive tendencies and the team will start to form around you. Best feature in the game IMO. The offense started flowing really smoothly for me when I got to about 80% teammate chemistry.

I got drafted by the Kings and it was tooooo realistic I guess. Evans and Cousins would just rush the paint and get rejected.

There's your problem.

ETA: After my first player, I just started tanking the Rookie Showcase on purpose. My SF got drafted by the Bulls and my second PG got drafted by the Mavericks. Forget going top 10.

It was hell man, I had the Jimmer stealing my minutes and ball-hogging. I think we won 35 games in the two years before I demanded a trade.

After the playoffs for my rookie PG pretty much being a breeze on Superstar, I made the jump to Hall of Fame to start his 2nd season. What a jump it is. Vince Carter retired so I lost a sharpshooter and our 2nd highest scorer from the year before, so I had to carry a bit more of the load. It also didn't help that we were playing the Clippers. Stats:

28 minutes
52 points
20/32 shooting
8/13 3pt
4/4 FT
8 Ast
4 Reb
2 TO
1 Blk

We won 94-92 on 8 minute quarters. Hit the game winning layup with 4 seconds left. I'll be damned if my team didn't give Jamal Crawford a wide open 3 pointer off the inbounds play. Luckily (and shockingly) he missed it. I thought for damn sure it was going in seeing as how the Clippers shot 65% from the floor as a team. The game wasn't nearly as easy as it seemed from my player's stat line. It was typical Hall of Fame bullshite all the way through. Blake Griffin was doing moves I've only seen Allen Iverson do and hitting fadeaway jumpers from just in front of the 3 point line. My 99 rated PG was missing wide open shots and shooting about 38% going into the 4th quarter. We were down 10-15 points pretty much all game until about 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I think we were even down 20 at one point. All of a sudden the shots I should have been hitting all game started going in and Marion decided to go HAM in the paint. Ended up with an A teammate grade. I feel damn good about the win and feel like beating my chest on the internet for besting the HoF cheese.

Is that the norm to play on? I switched it to 8 minute quarters because the scoring came out to be a lot more like an actual game.

I play on 9 to 10 minutes and I can get normal game scores and stats for teammates.

I'll go ahead and up to 10 then. Sure, each game is taking much longer, but it's more enjoyable.

8 is the lowest you can go and still keep the scores/stats semi-realistic, IMO.

ETA: But I push the pace. If you don't like playing fast, I'd go up even further.

The Clippers shot 65% and even with me scoring 52, we only won by 2. Definitely not Pro

I wish you had more insight as to why certain players are being benched or in foul trouble. Playing for the Magic, I have no idea why Big Baby isn't on the floor more. I become an assist machine with him on the floor (he hits mid-range fadeaway jumpers like layups). Would be nice to have a bit more of that info from the announcers. I played 15-20 minutes with 8 minute quarters, so I don't get how I haven't cracked the starting rotation yet.
