I wish I could do 2k's ratings. Speights shouldn't have 85 three. Neither should Draymond. Those guys take easy spot up 3s. LMA started the year with something like 80 three, now it's 45 iirc. He can shoot the three, it's just not the offense. Much like Speights, and to some extend, Green. Green is a good three pointer, but at 85 or w/e he's as good Lillard and CJ.

End rant.

I lost earlier with the 01 Lakers. The historic teams just do not have the depth and/or the quality of talent the modern teams have. HoF tier now. I'm probably going to try the Cavs in my next game. I need a W. The Warriors would be an easy W though

If I get into the Legendary tier, I'm going to take a long deserved bbreak from 2k

Off opic from the Playnow journey, but I played a guy in MyTeam. I'm only in the 3rd tier, my team isn't that good. 86 Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Aminu (73, need to find his 76 version), Pau, and WCS. I personally love WCS because of his athleticism. My bench has Bev/Smith/Shump/Sully/Nurkic

I used to play whenever. 2k gave me a couple of 0-0 defeats and lost interest. I focused on defense and guys that can drive to the rack. He tries to bully his way into the paint with Melo, which isn't a bad strategy. It work most of the time. His other 2 Golds are also Lillard and PG13. He played Nic Batum at C in stretches thinking he could stretch the court. He'd hop step into the paint with Melo or PG13 and put up a shot in traffic. It worked and didn't. It failed him down the stretch. He'd also drive in the hop out, hoping I'd overcorrect my defender to guard against a jump shot. He never had any intention of shooting, he was trying to make a lane for him to drive doing this. Never worked. I forgot how easy most 2kers actually are.

TL;DR
Myteam players suck dick. I'm used to playing other users playing competitively that it's just not fair for to my opponents in Myteam. Albeit, in play now, half the time I'm facing the Warriors. At the level I'm at though, most Warriors users are damn good. Most.

The Suns are hands down the best tier 3 team. The Wolves are fun but the Suns hav so many shooters it's unfair.

My lineup:

Bledsoe/Booker/Warren/Tele/Chandler

Four players on the court with 80+ three.

Back in the HoF tier. I lost the other day off a Tim Duncan layup at the buzzer as the Clippers, sent me down to the NBA tier, which is where I went 3-0 with the Suns

Just some tips for those of you that read my posts for entertainment (probably not many of you )

Tip 1: Always get your guys back on defense. Don't even bother stealing the inbound pass. You're more likely to give up an easy bucket than you are stealing that pass
Tip 2: If they miss the 2nd free throw, that just became a fastbreak. Throw it up to your PG or SG streaking down the court. You can usually get off an uncontested 3 if the defending team is packing the paint (they usually are)
Tip 3: Look for cutting players. This is obvious but it's important to recognize it. A cutting player on this year's 2K is a guaranteed bucket. The defense is often too slow to do anything to stop him. You have to pick up the cutter before they get 10 feet from the hoop. Usually that's where it's intercepted. It's easy to get buried that way, needing a quick bucket in a game that's starting to get out of hand, often times my opponents will make that pass too late and my C picks them off.
Tip 4: The 2-3 zone is your friend. The 3-2 IMO is mostly trash. The guys in the corner often times play too far up and leave their guys wide open along the base line. The 2-3 if you're fast enough, can be awesome for a number of reasons. The defense rotates well and the help D usually isn't too much. I like the 2-3 when my opponent keeps running the P&R or doing give and go. This defense won't work well with the Warriors but it does great if you're quick with rotations against every other team on the game. Usually I try to keep the PG at the top of the key and I pull the SF out to the baseline often. It works like a disguised 3-2.

Back to my journey. The Pelicans are awesome. AD at C and RA at PF is a killer lineup. Then, down the stretch I play Ajinca at PF with AD at C and it's hard to beat. The shooters are extremely inconsistent though.

Made it to Legendary last night. I've slowed down a lot, playing two games every few days. It was an UGLY arse game though. I was the Jazz vs. Clippers (without CP3 but with Blake)

I've never used the Jazz before so much of the first half I was feeling them out. My opponent was hitting shots and neither was I. It was 9-8 me at the end of the 1st.

The 2nd Quarter got dicey. He started to click with Rivers and Crawford. Blake was settling in. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out which PG I like more: Mack, Burke, or Neto. Neto is the best shooter on the team so I favored him a bit at times, but Mack had the best all around game. Burke is a lesser shooter than Neto but a better finisher. As I was toying with this, LAC went on a run, scoring 13 straight. There's now a minute left in the 2nd quarter and I have yet to score a point this quarter Score 9-21. This is how most of possessions went: Bring ball up court, pass to cutting player, cutting player decides not to run inside paint, ball is deflected because cutting player sucks dick. Turnover. Or, cutting player catches ball near the top of the baseline or top of the key running back to where we just started. Now we have only a few seconds on the shotclock. Brick. It was ugly basketball. I usually make mass subs when I have nothing going. With a minute left, I got an easy dunk off a P&R and then found another dunk next possession. I ended the quarter on a 6-0 run. The 2-3 zone helped force a few turnovers.

The 3rd Quarter I slowly chipped away at his lead. I played inside with Favors and Gobert. Tall players are Gods. Gobert was money under the hoop. I missed every 3 I had taken up to this point. I just can't hit. On defense, LAC would sit with his guy and wait for a guy to cut. It's how he built a lead but I've caught on. I told my team to play neutral defense so that way they're not all up on their chin (I always play with Limit transition, Aggressive defense) and it started to work.

Fast forward to the end of the 4th quarter. I've held him to like 12 points in ~9 minutes of play. Tied at 33-33 and the playclock running down, he gets a bail out foul where Favors came crashing in on a driving Rivers with 3 seconds on the shotclock (and 12 on the play clock). Rivers hit both FTs. I was pissed. I was just Favors then I switch to Mack to cover Austin and Favors feels like he needs to help when Rivers is taking a contested layup in the paint. I get the ball to half court and call a play for Hayward. Big problem, I started the possession with 12 seconds, Hayward got the ball with 5 seconds and the play is just starting. I run the screen then pass it back to Mack who appears to be cutting down the lane. He has a defender behind him and one in front of him about 8 feet away. I take a step with Mack and shoot it as time expires. It was contested. I needed this win as it was my last one in the tier, it was lose and start over, or win to go to the top tier, Legendary.

Back to the shot. Mack hits it at the elbow to tie it up!

It's a 35-35 game going into O/T I said it was ugly. I haven't hit a three still. In my last post I mentioned how great the Pels were. I lost my previous game with them where I hit 2 3s all game and Eric Gordan and Jrue both missed 2 open threes a piece to take a lead on the Cavs late. I lost by 3.

In O/T I started alright but I kept making blunders, whether it's shooting a bad shot or taking a layup with 3 guys there. I don't remember O/T as well as I did the rest of the game. I played his last possession straight up with 29 seconds to go. I don't remember if it was tied or if he was up one. I got the ball back with ~ 8 seconds left. I call a timeout and sub out Trey Lyles who shanked a 3 for me last possession. I sub in Burks for Hood. I run a P&R with Favors hoping to get a lane. He pulls his SG over from the top of the arc. I pass it out the Burks and he nails it. My first and only 3 of the game. He takes a timeout to advance the ball up the court. With 0.7 seconds left, he throws it to his PG driving. Gobert reaches out with one of his mitts and snatches it up. Game.

It was a tough tough game. I missed a handful of open threes and for the most part, had trouble creating. Nonetheless, I pulled off a damn miracle

New patch. Should be less cheese play. I personally like it. I felt like I needed to sit and rest after watcher NASCAR offenses all game.

Thoughts on new patch:

Offense is slower. More half court offense and less stress on the fast break. Harder to cherry pick. My passes sail more often than not now if I'm trying t advance the ball with a no name C. My PG usually comes back to the ball even if I try to cherry pick. The crossovers are slower too. Not every player has Steph Curry handles. All in all, solid patch. The 2k Devs try to make a sim game, I give them props for that. I remember one dev In a thread on OP sports adjusting player tendencies to what the players thought that guy would play like (the example here was Magic Johnson. He was a scorer at first)

I played 4 games with the 03 Mavs. That team is loaded with shooters. Loaded. I sub Bradley to start at C making my bench and starting lineup have 4 80+ 3pters each. God damn it's beautiful. Dirk is awesome too. My half court game is flawless. I usually run a P&R with Nash at the top or use some side action with Finley. Dirk averages 24 a game they're fun to use. Only problem is the defense is total arse. I won 3 of the 4. Two were against the Rockets, my one loss came to one of them. Harden tore me up both games. I have nobody to check him. Even then, it took a shitty game by Dirk. I had a 12 or lead with 3 minutes and blew it. I guess another problem is this team lacks speed in general. Once Nash was trapped, I was doomed. I missed an open fade with Dirk to win. Lost in OT. Dirk was 4/14.

So far, the HOF tier isn't terribly difficult. I see more press defense now and traps with the slower gameplay. There's pros and cons to it.

Next year I'll upload my videos on to YouTube. Maybe once a week I'll give you guys actual pointers in the video rather than through text on here haha

I thought there might be more people doing this. I wanted to get every trophy and see how good I am at 2k. Turns out I'm pretty freaking good.
