I got a couple of hours in and stopped playing, can't remember why.

That's probably why, they don't throw you a bone...ever.
In fact, I didn't get a computer update about activity for the entirety of the 2 hours, but what I needed was in the light world
It's definitely a game that will frustrate you with difficulty and complexity, but like i said when it clicks, you feel rewarded
It certainly has a majora's mask thing going on. It's weird, it's complex, it's hard, and it is full of new ideas in a franchise that kind of repeats the same formula

I played Metroid Prime 1 this weekend... started it Friday Night and got all the way up to getting the Plasma Beam yesterday and thats where I am now.
Game still makes me say wow, I am going for 100% completion in this one without using a guide. I have 140 missles and 5 power bombs as of right now.

I wasn't getting into the light/dark mechanic. I probably would have liked it had I not given up so easily. Was so in love with the first one that I automatically hated anything different.........like MM

it does what a good sequel should do, builds on it's foundation.

Mario 2 (a shadow world of a dream world )
A link to the past, a link between worlds
Metroid prime 2 echoes
it's interesting because when I was watching stranger things the first thing I thought of was Nintendo when they introduced the upside down concept.

You missed out on this one. I'm pretty deep in the game and it is fricking awesome

you can still play it. It's on wii
$20 and I got 3 of these games. That's unbeatable value

Eh, with most games, it's one thing to know what to do but another thing entirely to actually do the thing successfully.
I would die of boredom if I had to play a Castlevania (2D, post SoTN), Metroid, or Legend of Zelda without a guide.

I also disabled the hints

this is old school NES, figure it out yourself gameplay. I actually hated those games on NES because there is no subtle visual nod or coherence involved in the secrets...original Legend of Zelda and the original Metroid simply do not appeal to me, but that concept works so much better with enhanced visuals
