There are stealth games that I've enjoyed playing like Thief (underrated game), Dishonored, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Assassin's creed, but this game is just not doing it for me.
I don't think i have the patience for metal gear games.
Run around with blue balls wanting to shoot someone, but get caught and hide in a box.
Knock them out and strap a parachute to them wat

Got my first experience with a D-walker. I mowed down an entire base
DD is my fav buddy right now. He spots fricking everything. Oh, and when he gets the knife upgrade...my God that is the most awesomest thing ever. Quiet is still in my brig sunbathing topless.
I'm 40 hours in and haven't finished Act 1 yet. I've probably knocked out 20-25 side ops. I've used the PS4 share button a lot saving bits and pieces of gameplay because of all the WTF and OMG moments.

Finally got my hands on a copy. Is Kojima doing a troll by displaying "Created and Directed by Hideo Kojima" every five seconds in the game?

Enjoying it so far and Fulton-ing the shite out of everything. About to steal the honey bee
That being said, I'm going to start needing some story context. When does that come? 10 missions in? I just can't get into the cassette tapes for plot. I don't like just hopping from mission to mission

I'm 5 hours in and there's been virtually no story development thus far, and the missions all feel like they have nothing to do with one another. All those years in development and you have a game that's basically Snake a running around a barren desert taking random mission contracts. It is probably the best example I've ever seen of a game that hurt itself by going open world.
In 5 hours, you played the intro, the tutorial mission with Ocelot, rescued Kaz, and maybe one more mission. You simply haven't progressed enough to make that assessment.

Story picks up during that mission.

Listen to the tapes while you wander around your various mother base platforms collecting posters and rough diamonds scattered about. That's what I do. There's a surprising amount of goodies to be found around the base.
You probably have an animal conservation platform by now. Press the triangle button (PS4) on the map when you're selecting a landing zone at mother base. It also has some goodies to be found as well as checking out your rescued animals.
The story really starts rolling in Side Op 82 and Missions 11-13. Mission 10 will let you start Fulton-ing cargo/vehicles (fapfapfap).
I HIGHLY encourage you to visit your medical platform and find an accessible door on the second floor. A true WTF moment.

The fricking freedom you have in this game is something that I never expected to see in a Metal Gear game. I also love the health regeneration mechanic.
I've never been into Metal Gear much but this game has my interest and then some. The fact that there is some many ways that you can approach a mission and an area. Sniping, grenade launcher, stealth, machine gun, I mean the possibilities are endless. I've been playing all night and I've just been doing side missions.
I frickING LOVE THIS GAME.

Whenever I develop new tech, I find myself going back to redo previous missions. It's amazing how one new weapon or piece of tech can completely change the mechanics of the mission.
I have been using decoys, just noticed the enemy started using them, too. lol. DD is insanely useful....almost OP. Pro tip: be careful kicking soldiers. I was waking up a soldier to interrogate him, DD walked right up, and I kicked him by accident. My bond with him lowered, plus I knocked him out.

This game is dangerous. It's already sucking away what minor social life I do have. I've played maybe 10 hours already and I'm barely a few missions in.

I've played 15 hours and am at 8%.

I downloaded it overnight and started playing a little while ago. I've already died 3 or 4 times and I'm not even out of the opening yet.
