Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Discussion 5/12 UPDATE
Posted by ShoeBang on 3/24/17 at 2:17 pm11
This Thread is to talk about builds, strats, weapons or just posting who is available to get together for the Co-Op multi-player for Mass Effect Andromeda.
I figure it would be a good idea to keep it separate from the main thread.
5/12 current state of the game
This week there was a massive update that fixed many of the issues that kept this game from being fun.
Power damages got buffed, combo damage got super buffed, many guns that were horrible got huge buffs.
The game is now exponentially more fun and there are so many more viable ways to play the higher difficulties.
Worth hopping on if you haven't touched the multi player in a while.

BOX FARMING / OPENING STRATEGIES
There are a few schools of thought as to using mission credits for buying boxes.
The most common is making sure you buy tons of basic packs early on to max out your common / uncommon gear and characters to make you viable for silver mission farming, then buy the more expensive packs for getting the rare and ultra rare stuff leveled up to play on gold.
SHOEBANG'S CURRENT LIST OF MOST EFFECTIVE WEAPONS
PISTOL: Talon, Scorpion, Sidewinder - These hit hard. Raw damage is king as far as my opinion goes. All of these satisfy that. 3/27 Edit: changed now that I play gold.
SMG: Charger - high ROF, decent accuracy. My current favorite overall weapon. Only Viable in Bronze and Silver. Equalizer. No reloads, great ROF, good damage. Gold viable
AR: General consensus is that ARs are lacking unless you play a class with the soldier skill that turbocharges the ROF and clip. I play a support classes so I have no opinion here.
SNIPER: Vanquisher. One headshot kills the normal enemies on bronze. Useful for any class. Nothing tops it right now. People soloing gold using it. The Raptor is the best AR in the game as well, except it is classified as a SR.
SHOTGUN: Personal Favorite is the Disciple. Light, good damage, decent ROF, great range and accuracy. Smart Choke mod is a must.
I'll keep adding to this post as I can.

Will they ever come out with a PvP component?

Is multiplayer cross-platform?
Also, how rare is the Vanquisher sniper rifle? Can I get it from basic packs?
Eta: Nm, I see that it's rare.

I have opened a few of the advanced packs and got the Vanquisher and Sidewinder. Both solid.
I run a Krogan Engineer so the sniper isn't usually something I need from a style perspective. I generally am a lot closer to enemies, so the Charger SMG and Sidewinder as a backup is my loadout to keep weight down and power recharge up

Playing an infiltrator is fun. I still don't have any gear worth a damn, but with the Tactical Cloak and cloaking when dodging, I can always run like a bitch from any sticky situation.
What's the trick with the disable devices missions? I always have trouble in later waves when you end up with an Ascended and/or Fiend just camping at the device point.
Talk about an oxymoron. Haha

Teamwork. Two people distracting enemies, 1 disabling the device and one guarding his a-hole because you present like a baboon and are 100% exposed.
For anyone still interested in playing, there are two effective ways to play right now better than any others:
Melee spec: Vanguard (human or Krogan), Asari Adept, Angara Avenger
Vanquisher sniper + support class: any infiltrator, sentinel, Salarian Operator, Angara Insurgent
That sniper rifle is heads and shoulders above any weapon you can possibly get. Some soldier types can utilize turbocharge to make the shitty ARs serviceable, however.
I farm gold runs and am mostly at the top of the leader board every match with my Human Vanguard. Face tanking bosses with melee.

A few changes with the new patch.
Patch Notes
I guess the Black Widow is top dog now?
Also, Outlaw Sharpshooters are deadlier now and Remnant Observers are weaker. It also looks like enemies, especially heavy-hitters, will be more likely to target melee characters and repeated melee attacks do less damage.

Also, I'm tired of the measly rewards bronze missions give. How much more difficult are silver compared to bronze?

If you're level 10 or 11, you should be able to run silver
re: Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Discussion 5/12 UPDATEPosted by MadtownTiger on 4/7/17 at 12:37 pm to KamaCausey_LSU
I run Silver all the time from level 1 to 20. Think you pull 15k per game in silver or so. Would love to run gold with my new Human infiltrator and a Widow II, but you really need a team to cooperate to make Gold worth it. Otherwise, you'll just end up in a lot of failed missions.
Tell you what though, Kroguard is garbage for Gold against Remnant. Maybe it's better now with the nerfed Observers. Pretty sure statistically, the observers got me the most.

You get 20-25k for completed silver runs. They nerfed the melee builds hard in the patch, most likely because of Krogan vanguards. Warping around like every second + blood rage was lulz

Ya I thought after I posted it was more than that. I normally get a few basic packs out a silver run.
Lol that shite was great, I would just charge-nova-headbutt til they die.
Tell you what though, that game plan was horrible for observers. They owned my shite all day everyday.

Yeah bronze nets only 10K credits. I have a Salarian Infiltrator at Lvl. 8, and a Human at Lvl 15. Spent too many credits on basic packs so I still have crap weapons. The only sniper rifles I have are the Incisor (hate it), Viper IV and Raptor I (what I use.
It seems to me that they shortened the time required to deactivate devices also.
And I figured out what Mission Points were good for, and bought all of the equipment available. Hopefully they rotate the options so I can buy the rest soon. I like the +Shields/Melee but raw gun damage would be better for my character.

I currently have 3 lvl 20 kits:
Human Engineer
Human Vanguard
Salarian Operator
I favor support kits. Angaran insurgent will be my next project. Debuffs and traps are a fun distraction from "just use a vanquisher". I bring the Vanq, but only shoot when powers are on cooldown.
The new patch certainly made playing melee a little tougher, but it is still one of the top tier ways to play the game.
