There were a bunch of basketball games that had that kind of cheese. I used to rent some "All Star Basketball" game for SNES all the time. HORSE mode was a lot of fun with friends because I had mastered the shot timing and literally couldn't miss

Eta: found the game,NBA All-Star Challenge

Punch Out is an unbelievable game.

This one in particular hits the nostalgia button hard for me.

My whole block had and it was an event when someone beat Tyson, we all went to his house to watch him do it.

I never beat Tyson, dude was hard as hell.

Also, frick the Mr. Dream version.

Apparently Mr Dream is fricking impossible, even to people who have beat it a thousand times, on the NES Classic Mini because there is a slight lag. I could never beat him anyways

I used to like playing Roger Clemens Baseball on NES. They didn't have rights to teams or players so the Atlanta roster included such studs as Lavine, Johns, Otis, Jeffway, Ronalds, Judge, Sidd, Terryton, and Lieb.

NCAA 2006 aka the goat. And madden 2010 was the last good one. Where they actually put time into the online play and leaderboards. Not just the ultimate team cash cow
