Is Morrowind the best Elder Scrolls game? Thinking of replaying it.

I am thinking about playing Morrowind again. Being 13 years old at this point, I think my laptop can handle it.

Looking back on the Elder Scrolls franchise at this point, would you agree or disagree that Morrowind is the best game in the series?

The one thing I wish they would bring back to the Elder Scrolls series is the ability to kill essential characters and break the game or kill off the entire world population like you could in Morrowind. "Oh you killed this guy that is essential to the story progression? Whelp. The story ends here. Can't go on now. Got to start over." It adds an entirely new level of immersion to the experience.

I really didn't like Morrowind. I guess I never invested enough time upfront.

Even though it's actually not, the world design in Morrowind makes it feel larger than Oblivion.

There's a ton of stuff to do in Morrowind, but that combat is just bad.

It wasn't necessarily bad in 2002.

I remember when Oblivion had actual voice dialogue instead of text. That was a big deal.

Morrowind had better creepy atmosphere than any other scrolls game.

Also loved being able to FLY.

I really miss that.

Morrowind had those damn birds and sandstorms so it does have a couple of strikes against it.

Oh Yes it was. Even in 2002, we knew standing 2 inches from a dude swinging your sword and never hitting the guy while he punches you to death was bad.

Oblivion's voice acting was great for its time, but they should've hired more than 5 voice actors.

I loved Morrowind, but at this point it's re-playability is predicated entirely on nostalgia.

I remember EGM's review of the Xbox port. The reviewer trashed the game so hard because he kept getting lost in the game with no idea what to do.

It was pretty clear console players had never seen anything like it before. PC players experienced the arguably superior Daggerfall years previously.

I still find the really deep, gruff voice actor in Skyrim kind of annoying.

If they would fix the combat system where you could "miss" and spells would "fail" then yes it would be the best no matter how outdated the graphics are.

I always wanted to get a PC and mod the shite out of it.
