I do. I watched Notch in a live stream once and in 72 hours he made a game 10 times better than anything on Atari by himself including all of the artwork. That didn't happen in the 70's and a lot of that has to do with the resources available then vs now.

I'm just saying that it was much easier to make games which is why these studious were able to pump out as many as they were.

Again, it's all relative. Sure it is easier now to make an Atari type game NOW but you are purposely forgetting the limitations they were working with then just to justify your point.

No one is arguing against the fact that it takes more people and more time to make a modern AAA game, just that you are oversimplifying what it took to make a game 35-40 years ago.

My point is that was easier to make games in those days than it is now. That's my only point. Literally my only point.

Some of the people are acting like they had family at Activation and I insulted their grandparents.

No, but maybe I should have been so I can understand why my larger point continues to be ignored/argued in favor of taking hyperbole too literally.

In the current climate, a company pumping out so many quality games in such a short period of time doesn't happen that often, but even as recent as the PS2 days, it wasn't crazy to see a company like Namco, EA, or Sega pumping out a number of titles in a single year.

No. It has nice graphics, likeable characters, and an OK story but that's where the good things stop. The gameplay is repetitive and boring. The gunfights suck and remind me of the horrible AI in the original Far Cry and the graphics and story were not enough to distract me from those issues. It's also a little too linear for my taste. Every mission is another obvious climb up this wall and climb up that ledge in these tiny cluster filled environments. Get in cover and then shoot at 8 enemies around the corner. Rinse and repeat. There is nothing interesting and engaging about it and nothing that makes you think or makes you search your entire massive environment around you until you find clues and stuff. In many occasions, when there is a puzzle, Drake will say "there's probably a mechanism I have to turn." 5 seconds later, it will tell me to press up on the d-pad for a hint. The game treats you like an 8-year-old. It's very straight forward and that is boring. I think a lot of people get distracted by the cut scenes, characters, and graphics like they are watching a movie and don't realize that as a game it falls pretty flat. It would be much better as a Telltale game like The Walking Dead and A Wolf Among Us IMO. This post was edited on 6/24 at 6:28 pm

I don't know if anyone has ever summed up why I think that series is overrated any better than that.

The only Indy game I played was Indiana Jones and the Lost Kingdom on Commodore 64. Game was horrible.
