I was able to snag a barely used WiiU for $125. What games should I get?

I'll be purchasing Zelda: Breath of the Wild tomorrow, but I want to get some more games for it.

What's good?

I hope you know it's a dead console?

But, regardless, the WiiU has a really great, dense library. Not a lot of titles, but a lot of really good ones.

Bayonetta 1/2 are great.
Wonderful 101
DK: Tropical Breeze
Rayman Legends, appropriately with the touchscreen
Super Smash Bros should still have a great community
MK8 is the best MK ever...well before MK8 Deluxe
New Super Mario was ok, if you can find Galaxy 1 and 2 and never had a Wii, get those ASAP
Wind Waker HD is fantastic

I was a big fan of Captain Toad and Yarn Yoshi, both super fun, but light. Lego City Undercover was highly underrated. Nintendoland is great for parties.

If you like RPG's and can find Xenoblade Chronicles....it is one of my favorite RPG's of all time. Then....you can certainly find Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Mario Maker

Of course. But they are $300 everywhere so I couldn't turn it down.

I have Rayman Legends on the XBone and beat Wind Waker on the Gamecube.

Was the HD remake of Twilight Princess good?

I'm really looking for Nintendo exclusives. Were the Luigi and Toad titles worth picking up?

Did the Nintendo library die with the console?

Are WiiU's still really $300, the same price as the Switch??

Splatoon is a pretty fun game to kill some time in. Obviously need to pick up smash bros. Also if you can find the converter that lets you use a gamecube controller...that is pretty nice to have especially for melee.

To be honest, the new Zelda will take up most of your time!

Great game, but I assume a large portion of the community has gone on to the Switch with Splatoon 2 just a month away.

If you never played TP, I would assume. I had it on the Wii. I much preferred a second play through of Wind Waker.

All of those are exclusives minus Bayonetta 1 and Rayman. I enjoyed Captain Toad, but it's a puzzle game, you have to go in thinking like that.

Super Luigi U was alright and Dr.Luigi was slightly better.

The only games with a still thriving community are Smash and Mario Maker to my knowledge. But Smash, Splatoon, and MK8 are the only games that require the online multiplayer experience.

Like I said, it's still one of the best Nintendo lineups in a long time. Better than the Wii's actually.

Completely forgot about Mario Maker. That game has a pretty endless replay value.

I'm assuming you're being paid by Nintendo to push the Switch.

Yes. Specifically because of Zelda. People can't find a switch to play it on so it has driven the price up for the Wii U

There's like two physical games being released in the next six months...

It seems to still be getting eShop support however.

Not only that....

MK8 has already been ported to the Switch. Breath of the Wild is there. Rayman is getting a definitive edition, Smash most likely comes, there's Splatoon 2......

Point is, I'd buy the system if I liked the games, same goes for the GC and N64, and I'm pretty sure they're dead.

At this point, I'd prefer the Wii U over the Switch because the only two games worth playing on the Switch you can also play on the U, plus WW and TP remasters.....and an established library.

Again, for the right price. If it was $300 I'd definitely reconsider.

That Xbox data is super interesting though - The "Everyone wants Backwards Compatibility but no one plays it." Kind of fascinating actually given the focus on retro and old gaming.

I know a lot of people who chase down "old machines" because they really want to play stuff, but the lure of the new is too strong, or nostalgia is too weak, in either case I often see them actually play that thing less.

To each his own, always, but I'd at least want to warn someone that the WiiU just doesn't have support, and that certainly matters for a Splatoon.

Most of the games have already been mentioned, but the games I bought that were fun were:

New Super Mario Bros U
Super Mario 3D World
Twilight Princess HD (same exact game as the old version... only difference is a new cave of trials in wolf mode, and you can use the wolf in BotW with the TP amiibo)
Windwaker HD
Pikmin 3
Yoshi's Wooly World
Super Smash Bros

And of course, you can play all of the Wii games as well

The NES remixes are a blast, and Mario Maker is great. Playing people's insane levels online equal parts frustrating/hilarious.

And like someone mentioned, Lego City Undercover is very underrated. So much fun to play, especially if you have a kid.
