How long is the PSN typically down for maintenance?

It wasn't scheduled maintenance and no one is quite sure why it's down. No word from Sony yet. Can only sit and wait.
I was logged in earlier to Destiny while everyone else was having issues and then tried to upload a youtube vid like an idiot and it kicked me out.

This happens maybe 2-5 times a year and 99 percent of the time it isn't Sony's fault.

Debatable. Also irrelevant depending how you look at it. I pay for a product, I don't care who is at fault. Doesn't help that Xbox is still up too.
Either way I'm not playing anything right now so I'm unaffected.

I had a PS4 go to shite, and it still works but cuts off after like 10 minutes. So I got a new one. Well apparently you have to "activate" your ps4 to be the main ps4 you will use. Otherwise, like my ps4 that works, you can't play any fricking games on it. And you can only activate the ps4 when you're online. So I can't even play fallout or fifa or ANYTHING!! Yea, I'm mad.
