How is Sonic: Mania for Switch?

Anyone picked this up? Bombcast speaks highly of it.

I have it on the Pro for the 4k but apparently the Switch version is perfect, only a couple frame dips on the bonus stages. 1080p docked and 720p handheld 60 fps.

Awesome.
But it's a Sonic game, which is vastly different from other platformers. As long as you know the difference, it is great.

Yeah I would get it on the Pro if my Switch was seeing attention. Want a reason to use my Switch until Rabbits and Odyssey launches.

I was born in '86, very familiar with OG Sonic games. This looks to be OG so sort of excited. Just remember those terrible Sonic games on Dreamcast and Wii.

Sonic Adventure 1 is actually one of my favorite Dreamcast games.
The Wii actually got one decent Sonic game (the most well-received iteration of Sonic Unleashed) and one great one (Sonic Colors). Sonic Colors might be my favorite Sonic game to date.

Then you will love it, simple as that.
I've just read a lot of people who want some kind of patience or slow, determined pace in their platformers.... No you just kind of have to go with Sonic. Full Speed Ahead.

Yeah Sonic for me, is about rushing pass everything to grab every coin and complete as fast as humanly possible.
