How is Rage?

I haven't gotten to getting the game yet, is it as bad arse as it looks?

I have played it about 3 hours or so and like it alot so far. Seen mostly 80 - 90 % on ratings and have to agree, great game!

Finished it in 7 hours, very linear

Did the Same, combine the shortness of the campaign with the absence of an online mode and this is a definite renter. I'm trading it in today and putting the money towards skyrim.

How?? I'm 7.5 hours in and haven't even made it to the authority yet.. It is very linear, but did you do nothing but follow the storyline?

The graphics are smooth enough to give me some Blair Witch type dizziness. Maybe I need to see a doctor.

Played it for 3 hours. Solid...but....
1) Deus Ex is better
2) Nothing in Rage that seems 'exciting' or 'new'. Basic motivation is 'not die', no story, etc....
Feels too familiar. Beautiful game, but I'm disappointed. Didn't even feel motivated to finish. And the racing is clunky.

Pretty much, did a little bit of racing but wasn't into it. The only real side mission I did was the monster bash tv thing but that wasn't very time consuming.

Rage did a poor job of making me care about what was going on. I was surprised to see the similarities between Rage and the last id game I played (Doom 3), I mean they just put you in a foreign environment and say "go get em tiger". The "go here and kill that" story narrative wears very thin.

About 2 hours into it so far... and (whether wrong or not) I keep comparing it to Borderlands.. and so far it's got shite on that game.

my Brother wasn't that impressed.

Pretty much. I'd rather kill everyone in Wellspring than complete boring missions for them.
