yeah its a couple years old - whenever the 6850s first came out. i remember i spent next to nothing on it, going the unlockable core route with AMD was definitely the way to go back then on the lower systems
I didn't say anything about it being cheaper, I just said it was a great place to put together builds.
They have every major retailer on there site, and the owner is constantly updating and improving it. Its one of the most accurate pricing/building guide on the web.
Margins are super tiny on pc builds under $1500. We wouldn't even do them but I love it and customers sort of expect it. I mean what kind of "full service" computer shop doesn't sell computers lol
For example, the $3k origin pc has a profit of $700 on parts. That will dramatically decrease on less expensive models
Make all our money on service.
