I find shite cheaper than that site all of the time. They only put sites on there that they are affiliates of so they can make a commission from it all. They skip over other sites that they don't have affiliate accounts with.

thanks for the tips buddies

i want to keep all my invoices on one site in case i have to RMA.

tigerdirect has been good to me.

time is money. yeah we all can obsess over min/maxing for the most bang for the buck, and thats fun and all for sure. I want to keep things semi "together" for my own sake though.

I didn't say anything about it being cheaper, I just said it was a great place to put together builds.

They have every major retailer on there site, and the owner is constantly updating and improving it. Its one of the most accurate pricing/building guide on the web.

Edit: To jeff, that's basically what I did, but I picked newegg instead because I got free 2-day shipping on everything

yeah its a couple years old - whenever the 6850s first came out. i remember i spent next to nothing on it, going the unlockable core route with AMD was definitely the way to go back then on the lower systems

Exactly what I did with my PC at home. Same video card even. Budget build at only $650 and it could run Skyrim at high in 1080p while frapsing (ultra pushed it a little harder than I cared for). It is time to upgrade the video card though, I'm afraid.

Does TD or Newegg have wholesale builder options for people in the business?

If they do go grab a Tax ID and get set up?

i see i can buy a max of 20 of some parts

i imagine if i wanted to get shite wholesale, for dirt cheap prices, id have to look elsewhere. i havent researched MUCH, though

this would be something to consider, down the line, once i enhance my business process and have a working revenue stream.

But yeah id love to funnel all these purchases thru my LLC one day

Margins are super tiny on pc builds under $1500. We wouldn't even do them but I love it and customers sort of expect it. I mean what kind of "full service" computer shop doesn't sell computers lol

For example, the $3k origin pc has a profit of $700 on parts. That will dramatically decrease on less expensive models

Make all our money on service.

Been thinking about building a gaming pc, so I can get good deals on games instead of overpaying on console. Only problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing. All this thread did was confirm that. I feel like my head is about to blow up

Same here, I make about $50-100 on a $1000 system. I love doing it, but the money isn't gonna replace my day job.

Start a new thread tomorrow during the day with your budget and if you are able to build yourself.
Should get plenty of help. I'm going to bed because I am an old man

BTW by calling you "that guy" I don't mean an a-hole because you aren't. You have turned into some know it all that talks down to people instead of with them though.

You're better than that. Not sure why lately you have been that way.

And don't twist my words. I said it simply really didn't have ALL of the best deals because it doesn't have sites it's not an affiliate of.

sounds like thats what you have done. very impressed

really just looking to challenge myself more in 2013

also glad to see my tigerdroppings google banners are now tigerdirect and newegg ads
