Be sure to try to get the latest visit you can
If you are leading by a lot, I like to schedule the visit early. Usually get them right there and can move on to the next guy.
I also usually start with my board with a bunch of guys that have me as their # 1 choice. Usually get 3-5 commits on the 1st week when I offer them.
Really wish they would have a new game....

I had a 1400 point lead with a guy who got a 300 point bonus on his visit that I scheduled early (I don't remember total gain I think like 800). A week late I have a 3400 point lead with him but no commitment yet

Dial back the points on that sucker and start pursuing others. He's pretty much yours. Keep an eye on his recruitment though and if someone starts gaining then get back on him

I've gotten to the point where I don't really like recruiting all that much. Used to love it back on the PS2 though.
What I typically do is put 25-30 guys on my list during the preseason, order them based on my preference, and then let the computer handle the inseason stuff. The key here, though, is the turn off the option for the computer to be able to adjust your recruiting board. Leave the other auto-recruit options turned on.
Once I fill my open spots I'll remove other guys in those positions from my board, as I don't really like to cut anyone. I guess if I ran my program like Nick Saban I could run off upperclassmen who suck in favor of the top recruits, but that's no fun.

Recruiting has always been my favorite part of the college football games.
