I've played these games for years and never had any problems with recruiting a top 5-10 ranked class every year except on this one

I just finished my second season on Dynasty after two perfect seasons with Tenn and only pulled in the 54th ranked class and it wouldn't have been that good except the computer signed a bunch of low ranked guys right at signing day

I was in the lead for about 7 high ranked guys going into signing day and lost all but one of them

Are there some tricks or hints the board can give me on how to do better? I'm using pretty much the same strategy I've always used, picking out 10-12 guys then giving them the max pooints allowed throughout the season then at the end when they give you 15,000 I just divided them up

TIA, this is pretty annoying

Look for the guys with the green dots. If you see you aren't gaining ground after a couple of weeks it's time to let them go. look for guys in your pipeline. Put the max amount on guys you really like first and and spread the other amounts out. Don't just go after 5 stars and 4 stars. There are lots of Gems in the 3 star guys as well. I used to recruit between 15-20 guys and scout tons.

I offered the scholarships early and then put my visits on a decent team not a rival. When you have a player visit, pay attention to what he wants you to do. Some want you to pass for 300yards and some want a 100 yds rushing or receiving. That really plays a part in getting those guys. It gives you points needed for separation from other teams.

At the end of the recruiting period most CPU teams will not put more than 5500 points on a particular player. So I usually split my points up between 2 to 3 players unless I was in the lead by a lot and then I would just put a couple of thousand on them.

^Pretty much all of that.

Also, use your coach xp to max out recruiting first. It will help greatly. Recruits are also assigned out on points. Recruits with 340 points are much easier to get if you recruit them hard vs. 70 points.

Around week 8 there are a bunch of players who haven't been recruited at all (<20% locked in). Recruit these guys if you if you're falling behind on others (from what I've seen DE's, DT's, and WR's can always be found in this category.)

Good luck.

Be sure to try to get the latest visit you can. The later the visit, the more points you get. Exception is the guy that you lead by few thousand. Schedule him early to get him to commit and stop wasting points on him every week. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to sign 8-10 5*s and the #1 class every year. It helps a lot when you establish pipelines into a bunch of states by having 3 players from that state on your roster and getting your prestige up by winning a bunch. By year 5 you should be set.

I recruit guys that give me the most bonus points first because they are easier to sign when starting out.

Around week 2 or 3, I go back and add guys who have a very low lock % and no offers. You can find some really good JUCO sophomores during the latter weeks also. Using this method, I was able to sign a few 5 and 4* players while playing as UTSA.

Week 8ish, I look for guys who are at 73% locked...for some reason they are not being recruited and have no scholarship offers.

Seldom do I go after an out of state recruit with the home state in their top 3.

There is away to cheat in recruiting by turning the autosave off, but it's time consuming and takes away from the recruiting fun.

Thanks for all the answers guys sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread, had a really busy day

I'll implement some of these ideas, sounds like it may just take a little while longer than other editions to build up my prestige and it will help when I do

Make sure you use your coach xp to level up recruiting. I hate recruiting in these games, but the CPU does a shitty job, and my dumb arse just figured out you can use XP to raise recruiting.

You talking about in the coach skill tree or whatever it's called?

Surprisingly that's one area Botch is mostly leveled up (I kept him bc I wanted to run his offense), there are like two upgrades missing right now and that's it

Also your very first week recruiting when you can only scout and offer scholarships, sort the prospects by their interest in your program from your school being their number one. If you offer some of those recruits a scholarship right away they'll commit on the spot. I've had up to 5 or 6 commit to me the very first week which will help you be able to spread your points else where.

On PS3, you can only recruit. No schollys can be offered. This is in the preseason when you first build your board and can change your schedule.

Once the season begins, you can get insta-commits but only if that feature is unlocked in your HC's recruiting skill tree.

shite, you're right.

20 recruits x 50 points for scholly x 50 for scouting is 1000 which is what you get in the preseason.

My bad.
