Kinda lengthy.

Okay, I bought this pair of Steelseries V2 with the inline volume control and the USB adaptor a while back. LINK

I never had any trouble with them, great sound, good mic.. until the mic quit working. Not sure I like the retractable mic design. But I do love the sound and comfort of these.

Anyway, I went to BestBuy and got a pair of the the Steelseries Siberia V3.
LINK.

The V3 didn't come with the USB adaptor, just 3.5mm cords so I plugged them straight into my comp's 3.5 jacks. I'm getting tremendous feedback noise through these, and sometimes the sound just shuts off. I reinstalled my mobo sound driver and still didn't fix anything. And I get the noise in every jack, front and back.

I plugged my old V2 headset back in (still using the USB adaptor) and I get great sound with no feedback whatsoever. So I figured, hey, plug the new set into the USB adaptor and they should work since they are the same brand and pretty similar. Nope, I get feedback through them going through the USB adaptor. Any idea of what I can do?

So right now, Im using my V2 for sound and my V3 wrapped around my neck for the mic. Not very comfortable.

And when I say feedback, I mean high frequency buzzing and you can hear the computer "working" through them.

EDIT: Not sure if this should be on the tech board or not.

Not sure why you're getting the feedback. But I have a $1300 beast pc that looks like shite on the inside.

You should return the V3 and get a nice pair of headphones

I likely will. I don't need a $200 pair of headphones though. Those would serve their purpose if they didn't have the feedback issue. Sidenote: I already took back a pair of turtlebeaches. They were terrible.

Any ideas on my problem other than your post?

No shite. An $80 pair is better than all headsets

Cool, then you have no reason to post in this thread again.

I use my Sony Gold wireless PS4 headset with the Razer Surround Pro through Synapse controller. Sounds great, all I need.

People hate on Razer (Drewbie) and I do hear their newer products suck, at least the KB's I think their mice are still solid, but man, their software is so damn good. Synapse is great.

This, I don't know why people even think about getting a headset. Pretty much all of them suck and the ones that don't are way overpriced.

A entry level pair of open ear headphones can be had for less than $100 and sound better than $300/400 Astros.

Heavycore, wow dude. Fly off the handle for no reason much?

To people other than Hardcore because he doesn't like me for some reason..
When I say headset, I'm talking about headphones with a mic for gaming. Not headphones.

You can make any headphones a headset with a modmic or desktop mic. And the mic will be better as well.

ModMic

Well, dumbass, there are these things called microphones that you can use with standalone headphones.

You can get these headphones with a mic like this or this and better 100x better than any headset.
