Good gaming headset ideas?

Particularly for black ops 3. Some of them are just for chatting with other players. I'm looking for the ones where you can hear all the game sounds, footsteps, etc.
For ps4
ETA: also want ones that I can independently turn the volume up and down for voice chat and game sounds.
...Also under $100

Astro A40/A50 with the mixamp. The best thing in the world for console gaming.

Playing COD with a headset for all the sounds will instantly make you a million times better. A must buy!
I have xbone, so can't help you with a headset, but definitely get one. I love mine

Not true at all.
I have Sennheiser Game zeros and they're way better then my A40's ever were. I use the Astro mixamp though.

Congratulations you spent over $600 for a headset setup . Sennheiser is top of the line stuff. A good/affordable gaming headset is easily the Astro A40/50 setup, as the OP alluded to wanting to be able to tune the game and voice audio

I paid $21 for mine on amazon and I love this headset, you can soundwhore for days with this one, HUGE upgrade from my previous one. It is a little tight right out of the package so get your CD cases and stick them length wise in between the ear pieces, let it sit for about 12-24 hours and you'll be good.

Get the Sony Pulse. Pretty pricey but it's incredibly durable and it sounds amazing. You can hear footsteps and all the other little things that the turtle beaches have.

I even use this for long conference calls and my music and gaming while on flights. I had Bose before and went to these and will buy V Moda from now on. Stylish and badass sound.

AKG, Sennheiser, Fostex and Beyerdynamic all make good headphones.

I have a couple HyperX Cloud gaming headsets. One for my PC at work, and another for my setup at home. The only gripe I have is the volume switch is in an odd place. But the mic is detachable which is great when not using it. The sound is awesome with gaming and music.

I liked my Astros, but they died as soon as the warranty was up.
