I myself have never gone to a gamestop and them be out of a game, but there was a close call the other day.

I went and finally bought GTA IV the other day for my ps4 and I bought the only copy in the entire store. No used copy was even available. I found that to be kind of ridiculous.

Gave me 43 bucks for Batman: Arkham Knight.

No complaints.

God's honest truth, every time I go to GameStop I always end up in a long slow moving line between one guy who smells like BO and the other like weed or between two guys who smell like both. >:( So I stopped going there and started using best buy or Walmart.

Gamestop gets a lot of unnecessary flack, but every so often you'll encounter a sales associate who really is trying a bit too hard.

"Hey, we've got this copy of GTA V used for 5 dollars less. Would you prefer it used?"

"No, I'd rather have the new copy"

"You sure man? It's in pretty good shape!"

"Nah, just sell me the new copy."

"Are you a power-up rewards member? You get points that you can spend on free stuff and other deals every time you buy a used game."

"No, I'm not a member."

"Interested in joining the power-up rewards club?"

"No thanks."

"You sure, dude, you even get discounts on pre-owned games?"

"Yeah."

"whatever man, just trying to help you out. Anything coming out that you want to pre-order?"

"No"

"Nothing at all? No Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed?"

"Nah, no thanks, I don't usually pre-order games."

"Well, judging by your prior purchase history, it looks like you might be interested in Fallout 4. If you pre-order you can go ahead and pay a little down on it, and you get ____ pre-order bonus!"

"I'll consider it, but not today."

"Ahh ok then. Can't guarantee a copy unless you pre-order"

Me and you go to the same Gamestop it appears. The one I go to has some cool people that work in there that don't push things on me. But they do have a guy that likes nothing but video games and anime. I let on that I was into anime once and now every time I go in and he's there I have to stop and talk to him for 10 or more minutes. Then when we get to the transaction, he asks a million questions like you just posted.

Gamestop really needs to address asking all of those damn questions. There has to be some kind of alternative.

All of the ones here in Birmingham are pretty good.

ETA: That I've been to.

It's hit or miss in Auburn. Of the 3 we have usually 2 of the 3 will have what you're looking for at any given time.

As far as the gamestop employees asking so many questions I agree it's unnecessary and annoying

My Gamestops use to do that, but now they know I go in there enough that they leave me alone.

The one in the mall always had nice people from my memory. The one in tiger town used to have one angry douche working there.

You'd be devastated to know that they now rotate the employees between the 3 stores.

Nah I go to best buy because of gamers club anyway. I hate driving out to Tiger town though. I wish amazon would make their own prime gamers club.

I imagine that'll happen with time. Tigertown is an inconvenience for me as well. I haven't been buying often enough to warrant ordering anywhere other than Amazon

I really only go to GameStop to glance around for random used Wii games. They often have stack of shite for $5 or less and I've picked up some pretty interesting ones. Occasionally I might find a really good deal on PS3 games but not often.

I never sell them anything though. The prices they give you are weak as hell.
