I just downloaded and holy crap this game is gonna be so legit. Looks like you can play as a goalkeeper if you want, players fall down after a hard challenge, the ball flies a lot more realistic when shot, and directional passing and how hard you pass it are very important. Looks absolutely spectacular.

I for one can't wait, haven't played demo yet. Don't know how much I'll play though between madden, ncaa, and real football lol.

Yeah this was the major thing they wanted to change, everyone complained about the ping pong passing to get it upfield quickly. Im glad they did....

chip through balls the same thing or a little more margin or error?

Chip throughs are a lot different. They're usually a little lower and harder so your players can run onto them. I tried a few with Kaka and he was money. I then tried a couple with Messi my next game and shanked them completely.

I play on World Class and it's very tough. You don't have much free time on the ball and with the new directional passing you better set up at least 1 or 2 passes after your initial pass. I'm going to play a little more today so hope to get a little better feel for it.

There's also a lot more tackles in this game than the other, especially against them. This game is gonna be the kiss of death for me...between this and NCAA many many hours will be wasted.

yeah his right foot is terrible on longer shots, especially on a chipped through where he takes it off the bounce.

Once my level got to over LVL 35 I just stopped playing online bc I knew 11' was gonna be so much different with the passing etc.

Every time new Fifa comes out it only takes a week or two to get it down, I remember how hard I thought shooting was when 10 came out compared to 09. Now I like it better than 09, deep finesse shots outside the box are automatic with guys that have a big curve.

Barca and Man City disgusting or what?

perfect, the was one of the big things I wanted them to change. I was big on the chipped through's since Fifa 09, im gonna exploit the shite out of my striker not having to slow down.

They've only got like 5 teams to play with. It's Barca, Chelsea, Real Madrid, OL, and I think Bayern Leversuken or however you spell it. Barca is dirty, but so is RM and Chelsea. I personally like Chelsea the best so far simply because of Drogba is such a man.

Another very big difference I've noticed is the first touches. It is so much different than in other games, even the World Cup game. For instance, I chipped a ball with Kaka over the top to Ronaldo and I was on the edge of the 18 yard box and he tries taking it off the bounce but gets knocked off the ball. Next game I'm Chelsea, almost the same thing happened, but I'm Drogba and he just holds off the defender while he gains control the I blasted it into the upper right. There's a lot more touches off the chest, chest passes, just a lot more physical play which is really intense and fun.

I'm gonna play with Real Madrid again after getting a little more comfortable with it and try to work some give and go's with Ronaldo and Kaka and try to be a little more finesse dribbling and what not.

Played it during my lunch break against my friend with the difficulty on semi-pro(I assume)

Its awesome. Players hold on to the ball better when dribbling and you have better control of them IMO.
Passing was different but i think its going to be awesome once i get used to it.

Its awesome that one player gets to control the goalie in the warm up screen.

I can't wait til the real game comes out

is it different than playing on manual passing in 10? That's the only way to play the game, imho.

I just meant in the demo...I hate playing with the top ranked teams. Also, Juventus is also on the demo so add that team. I cannot wait til the 28th.

It says I can't download the demo because my account doesnt allow games with that rating. I double checked system settings just in case and it allows games of all ratings, anybody else have this problem or know any solutuions?

the big question is whether or not you can transfer your be a pro created player from 10 to 11.

okay i understand the need to change it to touch passes. I just am not used to the strength you need to use. My big gripe is with the pks. Wtf it is impossible. I figured the goal would be to get the moving marker in the green and then line up the shot power with the green area. blasting it way wide. then i tried lining up the green and pressing as lightly on the shoot button as possible. I made like one out of 20. It is extremely unforgiving. making pks is nowhere near that hard IRL. I am sure I will get used to everything but there is an even more steep learning curve than the previous version.

I've generally played on assisted because I like to play drunk against friends. However I feel there's more to passing in FIFA 11, though not as much as I hoped. People who play on manual say FIFA 11 passing is like FIFA 10 semi-manual.

I've also played the PES 11 demo and I have to say I'm really impressed how far they've come since last year. I'm considering switching back, the engine isn't quite as smooth, the graphics are kinda pixelated on the default view, but it plays a more realistic game. No more defences standing around on the half way line even on ultra defensive against pace men, no more perfect 40 yard through balls in the air 9 times out of 10. Passing in PES is much more intelligent, at one point I found myself on the wing with a gap between a full back and winger tracking back, and played a pass and it went perfectly through the gap, on FIFA that just wouldn't happen. Also players don't retardedly run in exactly the same path as the man trying to mark them.

That said I haven't really play tested FIFA 11 much so I'll see how it plays.

New skills. Far fewer players are 5* in fifa 11, Messi is the only Barca player.

PES 11 is good so far but forcing me to watch a 5 minute video between matches is kinda shite. Master League online could be great though. Manager Mode is definitely one of the weakest areas of FIFA 9/10 but I wanted to see an online league scenario (once all the stupid bugs are fixed).

You can't hold down the directional button. You have to learn what the right amount is. In Fifa '10 there is a practice PK screen and it literally took me an hour to perfect it and I still haven't at all...but that's what you gotta do.

yeah I watched that video on youtube. It helped, but it is still really tough. not to mention blocking them is even harder. I havent gotten close on timing the dive.

ETA: take back all the negative things I said about it. Instead of doing schoolwork I played the demo all night. penalties are actually fun now and require some skill. defense is a quite a bit tougher than 10.
