Gotta be Halo for me. Even though Reach was kinda a bust, but I don't really think any other 3 game sequence has been as good Halo CE to Halo 3. At least in recent years.

it was FF for me but with the crap they have been putting out lately it's hard to keep them there. I'd have to say Everquest for me and can't wait whenever EQ next comes out

Persona and Final Fantasy are probably my favorites right now. I've really enjoyed a ton of series, but there many as long that I've enjoyed.
Some Honorable mentions: Uncharted, Red Alert, Warcraft (not WOW), Metal Gear Solid, and Assasin's Creed.

Gotta be war/starcraft.
There hasn't been a single game in the series that hasn't been a colossal smash over a period of almost 20 years.
There are a number of less than well received Mario, Zelda, FF & Metroid games though.
