Elite: Dangerous Official Thread and Pilot Names (Now On Steam!)

There was some discussion about this game today but it's burried in a thread and I can't find it.

1. How hard is the ship control, how many keys to do it?

2. Is the only place you can buy this the official site?

Found the keyboard layout and it's not too bad if you can map keys.

Just tried a couple of combat tutorials, HOLY shite combat in this game is tough, manage up/down left/right and line up the guns is a bitch. Granted I'm not a big flight sim guy so this will be a huge learning curve.

Gotta be honest i regret ever spending money on this. I bought it before i realized SC had arena commander out. played about 6 hours and hated just about every minute of it. the lack of tutorial and steep learnign curve was too much for my noobness. I couldnt beleive the beginners tutorials were basically " got to youtube and watch" and they still didn't tell you 80% of the stuff you need to know, all of which could be simply explained with in game promps like every other beginner tips.

that being said, all the guys i know who do play this regularly really love it. its probably a lot easier and more fun for people experienced with flight sims. to me its just too much of a work sim. its like frikkin euro trucker 3029. I would listen to guys who spent hours upon hours every day just flying trade routes just to make a little cash. would be willing to sell my account for like $45 if changing the email/login and stuff is easy enough

bump in attempts to get S/N's - So over the past week I have been saving up to buy the Vulture... if anyone needs any guide I can help you as you go through the early stuff, but I'll be honest with you, it's sorta like the blind leading the blind, I have traveled a lot though, and I am starting to really get the hang of what to do in the game.

what was even crazier to me was that we are still considered "in beta" ... I paid $60 for a game in Beta... I was kinda mad for a second - until I realized I'm getting more out of this beta than a lot of "full" games at $60+ DLC

i try to re visit this game once every couple weeks and just get frustrated. maybe next year when Im a proficient flyer in SC and can rent out my mining ship to noobs so they can make me money while I'm away playing something else.
