play as a melee class before you play through as a mage.. mages are a lot more complicated and require a lot more knowledge of the game's combat system.

I beat the game as a rogue and now I'm playing through as a mage.. it's a lot of fun but pretty nitpicky. I'm also doing 73% of my party's damage

Just finished my first play through as a human mage. As previously posted, it took me a few hours to fully understand the combat. Once I got that down, the enjoyment factor of the game shot through the roof.

I killed it after I got the urn

Mage is a bitch on the console systems. It takes me long enough to memorize what symbol represents what spell/talent.
