Disney Infinity. Has anyone here purchased this crap for their kids?

I bought this for my son for Christmas. Has anyone here had a positive experience with this? He's 5 and can't figure out how to do anything but run around in circles and attack the air in the toy box.
I've tried to sit down and figure some things out. And have found out that building things is extremely complicated. I'm a 34 year old experienced gamer and I can't figure out how to get one structure to connect to another. How's my 5 year old supposed to figure this out? Am I the only one that feels like I got hosed by spending money on this worthlessness?

It's Disney's fault you're an idiot and can't teach your kid to do simple things?

What's simple about this game?
Have you ever tried it?

Considering it's for toddlers...pretty much everything.

So your answer is no. You haven't tried it. Thanks for your worthless input.

I can tell not being good at a children's game upsets you.

Experienced gamer? My 7 year old cousin had it figured out as soon as he opened the box last year practically.

Not a matter of being good at it. There's nothing to be good at. It's a glorified Minecraft game. What upsets me is that I spent $70 on something that's useless.

Maybe you could Google some cheats or put it on easy.

There are missions to be played with the different playsets. That's all fine and good. But it turns out that the toy box part of the game is supposed to be the main draw. And it looks like a 3 day class will be needed to do things with that.

Bought the marvel one for my son. He loves it cause it actually has other shite to do besides toy box. Someone bought my girlfriends 5 year old one, and she was lost.

So you're not trying the story missions? Toy box, or any level creator, is going to be somewhat complicated, but if that's what you're trying to show your kid to play, he's probably going to have a bad time.

I do own it, and me and my 8 year old have had a blast. She usually just likes trolling me, so we don't ever get many missions complete.

My cousin is 7 and she was having a blast with it at Christmas. She was flying around on a Harley with malificent whose her favorite. Then we got into an argument about what a Harley is and I stormed off.

My four year old loved the playsets and I mostly downloaded other people creations for him to play.

But yeah, building worlds on your own is a lot more complicated than you would think.

I don't know what this is, but I just bought my son a Hero Portal TMNT system/game. It's great and he loves it.
Side scrolling fighting game.
