Declining Interest in Halo Series

Anyone else suffering a huge decline in interest for the Halo series? I remember getting so hyped up for the first three Halo games. I can't seem to really give a shite anymore about Halo 5. I've lost complete interest in the story since the end of Halo 3 and the multiplayer looks the same as every previous game.
Has 343 driven the series into the ground, or is it just not the same Master Chief that we used to love?

Every series has declining interest at some point. Halo has been around for a long time.

I get what you mean, I'm not near as hyped as I was for Reach for Halo 3, but I'll sure as hell pick up Halo 5. I may not pre-order it or even buy it at release (due to the issues with the MC collection) but I'll definitely pick it up eventually, just like I did with Halo 4.

Halo 5 is still anticipated, but it has been on a downward trend since Halo 3. Reach and Halo 4 have done well enough, but not the numbers the series was doing.

As someone who has played all of them and has seen the trends, it has declined to some degree. Halo Reach was hated by a sizable chunk of players due to crazy changes to core gameplay. Halo 4 was nearly universally hated by the fanbase, with a small chunk being the exception. It goes back to crazy changes to gameplay. 343 made the error of trying to make it like CoD or whatever shooter is out there instead of keeping it unique. MCC is fantastic and highly entertaining, but the extremely buggy launch further crippled confidence in 343.
In summary, 343 made some very dumb moves that hurt the series fanbase. I don't really blame them for MCC's launch though. I pin that on Microsoft wanting to rush a game release, but very few see the reality of that.
As for Halo 5, it will still be successful from a finanical perspective at the very least. How successful it is in the pro circuit and overall population through time is TBD.

I felt satisfied by the end of Halo 3, I finished the fight.
And while I was pumped for Halo 4, I never finished it because it just felt.... Not needed.

I refinanced a loan and got a pretty good interest rate on the MCC. Definitely declined from where it was before.
